Couldnt keep him under wraps any longer, its basically a reshell, kitbash. The trailer will not be part of the robots transformation, but will play some kind of role, probably like the Cyberverse version does. Sorry for the cellphone pics, my good camera is out of commission at the moment (they dont like being dropped when fully zoomed out)


1/22/12 Update: So I really wasn't happy with how fragile he was turning out, and the sacrifices to the bot mode in lieu of accuracy were getting unacceptable. So after thinking it over I went for non-transforming. Lil overzealous for my first re-shell but I learned alot. So here's an update, he's near completion,just paint work now.

4/28/12 Update: right leg is almost done, rust is drying on the left, arms, and weapons are next, and a few fun pics with his transformable smaller self

 

man those pics look good better then the camera i got. i need to upgrade. if you pull this off you will just have set the bar higher for leader megatron. keep up the good work

I just bought that same model kit yesterday for my attempt at a Megatron. Not the right model truck, but still pretty close.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Looks cool so far.

Thanks bro! Its a 1:32 scale Monogram, Mack R Conventional. The only Mack tanker kit I could find, and most of it will be unrecognizeable when its finished. Due to the Chevy Topkick being larger, mainly wider in scale alot of the parts are getting split into thirds. Like the hood, and roof. You've got the side pieces, a middle, and then plasticard to fill the gaps in between. Even pieces like the models windshield are not wide enough for Ironhides frame and will have to be bisected. This is my first reshell, so I'm learning as I go along too. Nice thing, you can make the chest how you want because it doesn't affect transformation, making Ironhide ideal as a base figure.

 

Man, if you pull this off and both modes come out pretty well, you will have one upped some of the best in the business even if the individual modes aren't quite as accurate.
