I have been waiting for these to pop up... I know I can't be the only one that, since that first pic of Shockwave showed up, started planing on how to build this guy...

This guy is going as screen accurate as I can get, so no alt mode.... I just want intense bot mode.. I took some liberties with the arm blade as I wanted an "attack" mode...

    So far,

    One leader Megatron
    One leader Optimus
and bunch of random stuff... and HECK of a lot of styrene.

So, other than the base being Megatron, nothing on here will be recognizable. I have either scratch built with styrene or molded with epoxy. I am drawing the shapes I need styrene with the idea of bending and folding it, and using a torch to heat mold the shapes I want.

I added about an inch to the over all height of TFTM leader Megs by adding ball joint ankles and a ball jointed waist.

    Articulation:
Ratcheting shoulder joints with 360 rotation and up/down
    bicep swivel
    elbows
ball joint wrist on left arm.
    double ball joint neck
    ball joint waist
    ratcheting hips
    knees
    ball joint ankles
    LED eye
    articulated fingers...

UPDATE 9/2/2011-COMPLETE... He has been painted shadeS of steel with a purple pearl and some shadowing and damage... I have to go get another Voyager Shockwave to complete the hose..but he is pretty much done...

I'm cooking up something like this (well not like this, I'm styrenetarded) myself using the ROTF Megatron. Cannot wait to see your masterpiece D.

    Ahhh.. NICE!!

Wow dude!! That means a lot! That is cool to hear. I just see myself as a nerd in a shop surrounded by toys making toys I want to see... Yeah, sometimes I want alt modes with a lot of articulation, but a lot of the movie cons with no Earth mode I never transform... plus, how do you transform a pile of walking swords? haha..

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

WHAT UP DUUUUUDDDEEEE.. I think you are in the wrong this... I'm encline...haha;)

Well, I am hungry, when you gonna serve up what's in the kitchen..and it better be good!

That looks badass already. What size ball joint did you put in the waist ? I put a 3/4 inch Struxx in a leader Megatron last week and it works really well. I put it up farther in the chest similar to where they are in GIJOEs.

Leader Megatron seems like the perfect choice for this project. The Cybertronian elements are already there, and with your abilities, it will easily become THE Shockwave custom to hold up to other customs. Hell, seeing this made me almost shun my own voyager custom I did.

Question: Will you be doing sculpting work to make the panels more 'organic' like in the CGI? I ask because the teaser pics (gads, I hate teaser pics) show both a rough ribcage, and then a more rounded one on the figure itself.

As a true Shockwave fan, I'll be following the progress of this with anticipation!

Looking good man! :thumb  The ribs look a bit big in the preview pic though. They weren't that big on the CGI model. Maybe you could get the voyager and use the ribs of that instead?

Yeah man, one of the smaller struxx joints. My boy Aprim hooked me onto those!
thanks man.. and yeah, I am looking forward to what others are coming up with.

:)  Yup....There was a lot of talk on my facebook page, and I got a bit of emails about this guy... I am sure you won't need a loan though...but then again, ebay can be surprising.

Me too.. It better be good.

    Same here!!

Haha. Spoken like a true pyro;)

    I hope so!

That is what I am trying to capture.

Yeah man...it was the feet that sold me.. I knew from there I would have to just scratch build the rest of the armor.

Yeah, the body panels are more rounded and organic, and will have carvings in them. The first pic is the styrene structure that I used to sculpt the rib cage onto.

Thanks.. OOhh man, those one the voyager are not even big enough for the voyager!haha.. I still have to sculpt down the ribs, but for the most part, they are a little exaggerated for pure intimidation purposes.

... do it man! This mold works well for it..and thanks..

Solid work. I never did like the proportions of the voyager mold. It has similar issues as the voayger Fallen figure from 2009. This looks like it'll be much better and more faithful to the movie design.
