Before I start, acknowledge the fact that this is my first big custom, so bear with me here.

This is what happens when notice I have a spare TFTM Leader Megs lying around right after looking at DOTM Shockwave scenes.
















This is nowhere near finished. I still have tons of thing to do that I will talk about in the next post.

Things I have done:
Cut off Megatron's heel pieces and unscrew the front of the foot and put it on the back to make it look a bit more like the desired look.

Cut off the "tail" which contained the batteries.

Removed wings, arm kibble, etc.

Figure out where cannon will be.

As I said, things I have to do will be in the next post.

 

To do list:...

Head:

The head will be a ROTF Leader Megs head used as a base to sculpt over.

Body:

Sculpting all over. Will be taking the chest piece from Voyager Shockwave for the chest here. More spikes will be added to the body to replicate the ones seen in DOTM. Shoulders will be sanded down and sculpted over to be rounder.

Left arm:
You guessed it; sculpting. I will scratch build the hand from parts unknown as of now. Arm blade will be made from resculpted Lego pieces.

Right arm:
Cannon will be glued on, Sculpted arround to fill in space. I will be using a Shapeways hose for him (Don't know how find one, please help).

Back:
Not sure what will make up the back yet. If all else fails, I will use random kibble from another TF just to fill in the back area.

Paint:
Purple with a black wash. A bit of silver will be added to the black paint that will be used for the wash.

 

The voyager chest is going to be waaay to small, there's a guy on ebay that sells a leaderclass chest and head kit, they're not the best, or most accurate out there, but good bases to modify. The sellers name slipped my mind though

Just make him an action master. That's acceptable, right? If not, go with the IDW comics' alt mode: a jet just like megatron's

 

Action Master route, for now.

Cool man! Im doing a similar project, how are you getting on? Here's what I came up with for the back piece, just the battery compartment of Megs "tail"...



And have started the base of his chest, ribs and shoulders...

how did you get the tail off i cant takit off what did you do

 

Very hard without breaking something, you take the tail to pieces and once you get inside you'll see where its attached, there is a pin thru the hole in the shaft and its glued in I think I just took to it with a hot blade until I cut thru the plastic.

 

Yeah, I think i cut some plastic, too.

I've done a bit of sculpting do far. I'll probably wait to take pics when I have more done.
