I recently got DOTM Leader Sentinel Prime and he is a great toy. But then I noticed his shield's handle was floppy and when he held the shield, it just flopped around everywhere. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

I don't even display him with it; I just keep it in the box since I hardly have a use for it, except for accuracy and playability.

Not mine at least, but you can always plug it to his arm via mechtech ports if it's too floppy. Or maybe a little superglue might help with the handle, be very careful though.

My Sentinel can't hold his shield worth of sh*t. It flops, and he can't even lift his arm with it in his hand.

One of the many things I don't like about the figure. Mine has the same problem.

Speaking of Sentinel Prime; this figure deserved to be so much better. Perhaps my opinion is colored (pardon the pun) by the great custom paint jobs and various tweaks that fans have done since this figure first premiered at retail, but most things about this toy sucked. Everything from the crappy voice chip to the floppy shield, just kind of disappointed me.

I got mine very recently, but mine holds his weapons correctly If I close the fists properly after equipping them. Maybe I'm just lucky with QC. I think it's a great figure, it impresses me as much as ROTF Prime did and it's probably one of the best Leader class figures out there.

Yeah, I don't recommend anyone who likes their Leader Sentinel to go looking at the customs that have been done. I suppose that's true for lots of figures, particularly the film characters of this size. I still really like mine, though.

The handle on my shield is a bit loose, too. I can get him to grip it fairly well if I fiddle with it by tightening the hand and moving the handle joint so it wedges in place. Before I got that to work, I found simply plugging into the forearm was a decent alternative.

When I plug it in his arm it looks really weird and uneven. Am I doing it wrong somehow?

The shield handle on mine is fine works fine and has teeth on it so it ratchets to a few set positions and it has a pin all the way through it (Is there a mould design change maybe ?)

I did recently realize the Shield looks quite good with a range of smaller Characters including Voyager Sentinel, The Protector Armour and DOTM Optimus.

It even makes a good riot shield for a Character like Kup.

Try it with someone else if you don't like it with Sentinel.

Yeah, it looks a lot like a tower shield on small characters.

Also Sentinel looks great with HA Backfire as a long-range weapon!

I find mine to be very floppy too, so I find that it's just easier to plug it into his arm via Mech-Tech port. It looks very nice like that, and is very solid.

How did you get the shield centered on the arm? Is mine missing a mechtech peg? Because mines has 2 pegs on the side of the handle and one near the bottom.

He said he cut off the handle part, and I'm assuming now what remains functions as a 5mm peg, so it rests on his arm like a Mech-Tech Weapon.

    Leader Class Sentinel Prime Shield

    Hello All,

I know this is a dated thread, but... I recently found a Leader Class Sentinel Prime at a comic book/collectors store, and it didn't come with the shield. Does anyone have one to sell (just the shield part), or could anyone direct me to where I could find one? Please feel free to email me: harlan914@gmail.com.

    Thanks,
    harlan914
