This guy was a blast to paint. He has so many little gears on and in him. The head is a BITCH to rewire and then reconnect correctly. He was given new articulated hands that are held on with rare earth magnets. There was no way to put joints or sockets in the wrists because of the Mechtech weapons in his forearms, so..... thin, strong megnets were the only solution. His knees were reworked a bit so he could stand taller. He was also given the proper blue LED in the head and a full paint job from head to toe to get rid of the stupid turquoise color they molded him in.

Nope... it is actually on a standard rotating joint, but they GLUED it in place because of the electronics. The electronics for his head are actually on a plug that connects in his neck. So, if the head slides forward to much, the plug disconnects. I modified it so it still rotates, but won't come loose.

Very Nice! The faceplate isnt removable anymore?

Nice Solution for The Hands, but Hope you'll built bulkier Hands, These does Not Suit this mold very well (only my opinion).

The comparision pic is epic And make me want this Guy so Bad (only 2 weeks And got Mine ^^)

Thx for all pics youve taken, so i can learn :)

The faceplate moves up and down still, it was never removable. It is on a hinge joint.

The hands still needed to fit inside the vehile for alt mode, and there hands were the EXACT same size and his stubby molded hands.

As for the pic comment.... thanks, I guess?

Huge bro-hug from the #1 Ironhide fan!!! (No homo) Hoo-rah! Super slick work, Z. Now that I have mine I can finish my HA Ironhide. I'm surprised not to see any headlight LED's from you, but damn, he looks good. :thumb

    hot damn.

i just dont get why hasbro cant make most of the ironhides without that crappy blue plastic. even if the hasbro had the legs more black or grey it would look ten times better.

    ugh.

nice job though, makes me hate the leader i got even more lol!

THis looks amazing Z, your meticulous attention to detail is evident on every piece you do....this one just looks so bad-ass and realistic in both modes, damn! Excellent work again, man.

Definitely going to repaint my toy like this once I get my hands on the figure. Makes the robot kibble under the topkick stand out less too.

Had this been Hasbro's original look for the figure, I'd have bought him instead of the Voyager. I love the Voyager, but this paint job looks incredible.

Wow, you've made the figure look so much better without any of that silly blue/teal. That was a very poor design choice on Hasbro's part, and a huge turn off from the figure.
