I think he looks so much better with the face plate down. Might actually get him now.

Some translations of the review that made it matter to me:

    1. Voyager Ironhide: the arms are terrible. And yes,I won't be getting this, even though he made this look good.

    2. Skids: articulation sucks on the bottom half. Good, I wasn't planning on it anyways.

    3. Leader Ironhide: its a gimmick beast, transformation is simple. (this is what I am gonna be going for, me thinks)

ROFL he says Leader Ironhide's transformation level is close to boy scouts (an insult)

edit:: feet of Leader cannot stand in a straight stance. If you like transformation sequence is this NOT for you. But if you like gimmicks, this is the king.

Leader has alot of back kibble. But I don't mind, still plan on waiting for the MP though. Skids looks very good. I'll pick him up for sure.

Having read his Barricade review then getting Barricade myself, I tend to not bother much with what he's saying and I just look at the nice pictures.

What did he say about Barricade that you found untrue? Just curious (because he isn't the only one mentioning the simplistic transformation)

ugh that back kibble. also all the blue as the lower half is throwing it off for me a bit.

id like to see what the takara line has planned for this, as they the changed the color with leader jetfire which turned out better imo.

    hoping for the same.

You know one thing I've been noticing in his reviews is that he makes the figure in question look fun and awesome and poses them really well, yet his negatives always outweigh the positives.....

I don't like all that blue on Leader Ironhide's legs...I guess I'm left to hope there is a MP-Movie release after all that gets rid of all that. I could do without the battle mask though. Otherwise, great looking figure.

I actually like the Voyager Ironhide and think I'll pick him up now. I was on the fence, but he looks good here. Still some flaws (arms, head looks obscured by the vehicle parts, only one gun for his arms), but looks nice to me.

Skids is okay. Nothing memorable, but I'll probably pick him up.

Other than being on a bit on the short side, he's better than the original Barricade in every other aspect, including articulation. And his transformation is actually more involved than on the original. Simpler than some other designs like ROTF Skids and Mudflap, yes, but within the ROTF line, there were molds that were easier to transform too because they didn't have to be overly complex to achieve what they needed to. DOTM Barricade is definitely not a dumbed down figure.

Ah, I see. I forget if I read what he wrote about Barricade, but I will take your word for it

I'm impressed they made all of the front lights individual pieces of coloured transparent plastic rather than just painting them.

I'd ignore his personal opinion. He may have a very different idea of what makes a Transformer good, and it seems he's more interested in complex transformations and collector-focused elements.

The amazing thing about Ironhide is that each time they turn out a new mold, it's worse than previous one.

But i love the animation model, and will buy both anyway.

While I do read his reviews, it's the pictures that get my attention. Since it is the aesthetic that I enjoy the most, he makes these figures really desirable to me. I'll be all over these figures.

both look cool, but the only one that I really have any inclination towards getting is the voyager. Not sure about even getting it though.

Really wish the voyager had as solid a chest as the leader fig, voyager's legs are definitely preffered though.

If they end up making a new deluxe down the road, I'll just get it instead (hopefully it would have the voyager's leg design)
