You have to slide the torso forward on the slider to release the doors; the "correct" transformation locks that together in a way that obstructs the door joints. Unpeg his hips just enough to give you room to slide his upper body. You'll be moving the piece that his head and shoulders are attached to. If you position it about halfway down the track, you should have enough space behind to rotate the door hinges up while leaving enough room in front to wedge the doors proper in front of his chestplate. Then wedge the peg on his pelvis into the slot as best as you can. There won't be anything for it to snap into, but you should he able to get friction tochold it well enough.

 

I've been messing with him tonight and damn the majority - I think he's pretty awesome. Short fat dwarf dumpy robots need love too.

If you unpeg the roof from his back, swing the roof down and fold the bumper in you can give him a huge ass to match his belly. I also unfold his chest guns to help fill gaps - they look like additional chest structures.

Throw out the instructions and forget about making things plug in the way they are supposed to. Just go with what looks good.

 

I actually hadn't tried that. Instead, I took Deceptigtar's recommendation and loosened the screws on the grey swing-arms that the doors are attached to. Loosen them just enough to allow the doors to swing upwards, and try not to tug too much against the screw. The door will end up a bit looser, but it won't matter in car mode unless you're into displaying car modes with the door wide open. (And frankly, almost all NASCAR cars have their doors welded or molded shut anyway.  )

 

So how many days until Matt Booker tells me how to unfuck this thing? I'm waiting over here.

I'm on the fence too. I really wanted this, but the issues with the robot mode, including the wonky arm articulation and rather inaccurate robot mode, are putting me off.

 

I actually think this guy looks pretty interesting, that target on his chest makes him look a little suicidal though.

 

Because he is just that badass. He doesn't even care if people shoot his chest.

 

This gets acknowledged in the book; Sam thinks he's nuts for being the Target car.

Also, do his legs pop off? Extra accuracy (to the book) if they do!

That being said, I snorted loudly when I read this part of your mini-review.

Hahaha I hate that effing dog-thing too so much. I'm still gonna get this figure as I think it looks cool but I might give Foreskin to my girlfriend or my brother.

As for the rest of the figure, so far he looks good and not THAT inaccurate to the CGI model. I hate almost all HA gimmicks that involve the humans, so I will never do his. Especially since they have Sergeant Dumbfuck stupidly blocking Leadfoot's awesome face when he's in the belly. It's a damn shame that he's not weaponized. The best thing by far about HA Roadbuster is his car mode. Also, it's good to see that Leadfoot's "sunglasses" actually cover more of his face. Roadbuster looks like he's a fat head trying to wear kid's size sunglasses.

 

 

Im not tryin to say NOT get it if your a HA fan like me. Of course HA fans will prolly get it. Just the weakest out of them all I think..
