Uh, the MSRP on him is 6000 Yen. Which is about $77 at the current exchange. True, most direct-from-Japan retailers offer discounts, but then then international shipping would make up for the difference there.

 Yes. We established that in the previous post to yours. And it is pretty laughable. Paying 80 for something that will be availible for 30 is pretty stupid. If tthey have to charge that, and tthink a lot of people will buy it, they are pretty naïve. They'd may as well not stock it.

 

We're in a fandom where some people will pay upwards of $100 for a factory sample of a Deluxe that will be on the shelves for $10 a couple of months later.

 

BBTS already sold out of its initial stock of Takara HA Soundwave. Clearly, enough people were willing to pay that much for it. I admit I am tempted to because distribution where I live is absolutely horrible and I probably won't see HA Soundwave for at least another eight months, and you can bet that when it does show up in the U.S., eBay prices for it will be similarly expensive.

 

The Takara version comes with an exclusive Mechtech card. I think that more Americans would be buying Takara MA Leadfoot because it has a different deco. Takara should have painted Soundwave silver to make it more attractive to buyers. I would like a blue or black repaint too.

 

Thanks for the post. I saw this the other day, but at $80 before shipping, there is no possible way I could justify the purchase.

 

No offence to anyone,of course if given me a choice to buy this at 30, i will also grab but i still don't see the reason why it is laughable since Yen price is quite high nowadays, TakaraTomy put up that price tag does not mean we guys have to buy.

 

The first one I see in my hometown I'll buying it, no matter if I get it a toysrus or at a collector store for a Takara/larger price.
