You never know. Word of mouth could get around.

Then again, alot of people are fickle and attention spans are rather *SQUIRREL!*

Attentions spans are rather short these days.

Of course, overseas audiences tend to be the biggest providers of Box Office grosses these days. They helped push POTC: OST over $1billion recently.

More interesting statistic is what percentage of viewers saw it in 3D. Heck, I drove 50 minutes to see it in IMAX3D (as opposed to 15 to the normal 3D theater).

I think that's word of mouth, because I delayed seeing it a few days due to work, and all my friends told me was "if you see this film, make sure its in 3D, Imax if possible, you'll never see anything like it).

I drove 45 minutes my self to watch it in IMAX 3D. I've seen it in regular 3D as well. We showed up an hour and a half early and there was already a line 30 or 40 people deep. Crazy.

I just took a 10 minute bus ride since I'm in Pittsburgh for the summer :D  I saw it in RealD then IMAX 3D and the only real big difference was the opening scene on Cybertron and a couple of parts in Chicago (mostly the driller part)

I heard on the radio today it had the 3rd biggest opening ever. With one of the Harry Potters and Spiderman 3 being in the first two.

I'm glad it's doing well. For all it's flaws (and there were many) it was the strongest of the three films and the sheer technical achievments on show were breathtaking.

Regardless of anyone's views on the actual film, the Transformers brand performing well at the box office can only be good news for the fans and the franchise itself.

I was quite surprised actually, so it's definitely doing well. Let's hope it will beat the tar out of Harry Potter.

This. When it reaches a billion we should have a party in the movie section.

I think I spotted him. hes holding a black haired woman's hand and running away from the crashed deceptijet. The shot before the genericon is struggling to get out. Hes in it briefly for like 3 seconds and hes running off frame. bottom left of the frame.

$400M+ in less than a week is DEFINITELY a great sign. I can't wait to see DOTM climb right up the record lists. I just hope it will outgross ROTF, as it is clearly the superior film.

Does BoxOffice Mojo take DVD/BRD sales into account for its totals?
