Report from Cypress/Houston, TX Walmarts....

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Went to FIVE Walmarts before throwing in the towel. Only TWO of the Walmarts even had DOTM toys out on the floor. I cracked the cases myself and was very disappointed to say the least. They only had cases of Bumblebee/Sentinel Prime Leaders, NO OTHERS. Voyagers were only Megatron, Ironhide, and TWO Optimus Primes each. NO SHOCKWAVE. Deluxe is a frakkin' nightmare with THREE Bumblebees to one of the others. Human Alliance is THREE Bumblebees and one Skids per case.

We're gonna be swimming in Bumblebees, probably a few Voyager Optimus Primes too, especially since nobody will want the single one and go for the Walmart exclusive one with Comettor.

By the way, only ONE Walmart had the Optimus/Comettor. I didn't want to come home empty handed, so I grabbed one out of the case and thanked the cute girl that helped me dig through the pallet.

I think Target at 8:00AM will yield better results. I hope.

 

Quick question, but is comettor a repaint of an ROTF figure?

 

Comettor is a repaint of first movie Landmine, he was repainted in the ROTF line but i can't remember his name.

Its only been a few hours. Give it a little more time. TF3 is a high profile summer blockbuster. The time for huge promotional efforts will come.

 

Nadda at walmart in Mech, Pa. Not even that Prime/Comettor pack. But did find Gen Scourge and Warpath.

 

You'll probably find the same case assortments at Target. That's Wave 1 of DOTM.

 

I know that, but if people were scoring them before the release date, that leads me to believe that Target just may be the place to go.

 

walmarts in chicago area were stocked with wave 1 and 2 last week. thinking the stores that didn't have them out will all have stuff in today.

 

Oh, I just noticed for anyone that cares about such things. The Optimus Prime in this pack does not have the MechTech weapon.

 

If you look at the package you would notice it doesn't say "MechTech" on it. Thus no MechTech + being an old mold.

 

Damn i wish we have wallmart-like stores here. We don't get those cool and cheap exclusive repaints. hell, most of the time we don't even get the original molds.

 

If you're local walmart isn't open 24 hrs, they're probably just putting them out on the shelves right now. My local Walmart opens at 6am but they were just starting to put them on the shelf when I got there at 7:30. Also remember that Cars 2 toys are also marked with a may 16th street date, so the stockers are going to be very very busy today.

 

It's a trade off for slacking the rest of the year.

 

As I expected, Target had Shockwave so I picked him up. I had to get him from a stock cart because the employees were running around like mad lemmings trying to move all the old toys out of the way for the Cars 2, Transformers, and Captain America toys. They really dropped the ball on this one. Target usually has all of that done by opening time on a reset. I went to two stores and they were both caught in the same mess.



Now I just have Leader Ironhide to go, and maybe the Ark playset if I like it in person.

 

I was looking at a Skyhammer at Target today, and I almost decided to buy it when I realized that the MechTech weapon had been stolen. Someone took the care to open the tape on the side, pull the tray out, untie the string holding the weapon, steal the weapon, close the tray and box flap, then close with Scotch tape (instead of clear tape like the factory uses). I took it to the manager so she could keep it off the floor.

WTF is up with that?

 

Not necessarily. Wave 1 and 2 basically shipped out at the same time, but it is just a roll of the dice whether a store got one or both assortments. Heard some locations haven't gotten wave 1, for example.

 

How much is the ARK playset precisely?

 

That would've been a DREAM to me. I would've bought it straight out. Truth be told I was literally going to destroy Skyhammer's Mech Tech and put it on video, but that would've saved me the trouble. On the other hand, I want to do it...so getting that probably wouldn't have been as...fun. hehe....hehehe....hahahaaha....
