Doesn't matter if he's "impatient" for the official figure to come out. If he can make an awesome custom with what he has at his disposal, I say more power to him. And looking at it, I say he's off to a good start. Can't wait to see this guy finished. I'm really surprised by this whole "Mattel has the Ferrari rights = no Dino/Mirage toy" thing. Does anyone even remember ROTF Sideways? He's an Audi R8 in the movie, but his toy only bears an uncanny resemblance and is technically NOT an R8. I think Hasbro knows how they can cut some corners...literally.
Maybe you should add a third dinobot mode to go with the name Dino. Or something. I know he's named after the Ferrari Guy but I'd just love to see something to throw off the dino/mirage arguments.
The thing is I didn't even notice Sideways was innacurate till I made that comment and someone told. Not a huge fan of the mold so I didnt pay it too much attention. Dino SHOULD happen
This is looking great! I'm currently doing a very similar project. I was going to ask how you attached the crankcase claws to him and got them to stay? That is currently where I am stuck. I was also thinking about using a RTS Mindset head modded for my Dino figure. Any other suggestions?
