And here's Sideswipe, repainted his proper silver.
Hasbro, Take notes.
Good job BTW. It looks somewhat "Weathered", Which I think makes him look like he just came out of a fight.
Might want to put some red paint in the tail lights though. It would help break up the silver.
It's a great mold; probably the most accurate Sideswipe Hasbro's done yet. But the grey prototype plastic was inexcusable.
I actually did paint the taillights red. You just can't see it because I didn't take a picture of that angle.
i like what you did here. it looks better than before. it just doesnt look sleek and shiny enough in my opinion though...
I was going for a "realistic" paint job for his exterior. I could have gone with silver or chrome, but they're both reflective and look kind of unnatural as a car color. Instead, I went with aluminum, which I think matches the car quite well.
cool! what paint did you use?
Heh, I'm working on the same thing. Mine's about 80% done.
I agree the mold is excellent, the more I repaint it, the angrier I get at Hasbro for making a superb figure unwanted by 90% of the fanbase as you pretty much have to repaint it.
Model Master Acrylic Flat Black for the base, Model Master Steel for the drybrushing,, Aluminum for the car body, and Gloss Black for the windows.
Indeed. I've done that with Bumblebee, Jolt, and Sideswipe so far. Crankcase was better, and I'm finishing up Barricade now.
What kind of paint did you use for this? I was considering doing this myself.
