You need a Sideways? I have one that's breaking and if you want to salvage the head you are more than welcome to. Just lemme know. ;)

why not use the 2007*bumblebee head?i think with a little sculpting or styrene maybe it could be better than sideways/barricade's head.

I considered it, but I have concept drawings from Josh Nizzi to work with, and there are two major considerations for Mirage's head:

The first, is that his head is a rough ovoid, with rounded angular designs on both sides as well as what could be considered his "chin" area.

Secondly, his head isn't one solid piece, rather it's multiple sections that are separated and appear to be interconnected. A good example of this are the areas around his eyes, as well as the sides of his head.

There are only three base molds that I have found to date that give a good foundation to work with, and they Barricade, Sideways, and Mixmaster. I used Mixmaster on my HA version, and when completed it will be more accurate than the dlx on that I'm working on now.

Here he is, nearly complete. Mirage, and his battle buddy, Ironhide! What a long and nerve racking two months it's been. As I previously stated, it 's been a learning experience for certain.

I settled on using a PRID Cliffjumper head for him, as I wanted a head to use for a Prime-style figure , but that would also blend in with the movie verse as well. Since my customizer didn't come through for me, this was the best option that I could devise.

I originally intended to have two separate heads for the same figure, but after looking them over, this one seems to be the overall best choice, and any styrene that I add will match this head sculpt better than Barricade, IMO.

The two antenna (yet to be painted) are actually the grips from DOTM deluxe Comettor's grenade launcher. I converted the gun into a machine-gun style weapon for him like in the game, with his sniper rifle being a separate package to be seen with the final pics.

After the glosscote cures, I'll be adding pics of him in his alt mode, with stealth force weaponry! Painting the guns was probably the least stressful part of this whole project.

Yes! I'm using a Maisto 1:24 scale Ferrari Italia 458 model kit for that. Right now I'm working on the abdomen and legs that I'm using, trying to determine the best way for them to Transform.

I haven't added his wrist blades yet due to waiting on the magnets to arrive. To answer your question about the head mold, I'm using Sideways for version 2, which is already begun!

Suggestion: For future attempts at Mirage I would like to suggest TFPRID Knock Out, Very capable of getting the headlight chest and he's got a similar chassis to boot.

This is what I'm using for my Mirage. Just waiting for him to be released in Canada.

Wheeljack hasn't been released in Canada yet? Have you tried Walgreens? That's where I buy mine from.

Please don't hate me for saying this... but you just shit all over a really great custom by giving it Cliffjumper's head but with ear twigs! Even if it means getting a new head sculpted it would be worth it, cuz right now this custom does not scream Mirage to me and why go through all of the effort just to go lame on the head? Again, sorry for the blunt honesty.
