After making a deluxe Crowbar, I was itching to make a Hatchet to go with him and Crankcase. UltraMagnus2008 hooked me up with a couple deluxe Crankcases and a junker Cyberverse Hatchet and I got started...

Thanks, I hope it comes out well!

EDIT: Moved the first pics to this post. So far I've completed his back legs and his main body build. Next I'm going to add the head with dreads then work on the front legs...

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas. I'm doing a similar project, but I'm creating a Prime Hatchet out of this figure. Good work so far!

Thanks! Can't wait to see yours. Are you using some TF Prime toys instead then?

    Head, one front leg complete

I've got his head attached and have completed one of his front legs. Next I'll need to do a lot of cutting and shaving to the body to allow the new leg to go in all the way in vehicle mode. Once that's done and I have it all working, I'll go ahead and do the other front leg...

    Finished legs, started neck

Since my last post, I finished up the legs and did the necessary shaving to get everything so far to fit underneath vehicle mode. I also did some cutting on the rear legs' joints so they could bend a little better. It was a case of a lot of cutting resulting in not too much effect...
I also added the dreads behind the head and started the neck. Next I need to do cutting and shaving to get the neck to fit in both modes. After that I plan to start putting the spikes on his back...

Thanks! I did some cutting on the neck and now everything fits in vehicle mode. Next I'll do some cutting to make the neck more posable for dog mode...

The inside hing pieces I got from an old Gundam model. The outside pieces came from a RotF deluxe Ravage toy. I took it apart and have been using pieces from it for a bunch of customs. I'm pretty sure the part I used for Hatchet's neck was the abdomen. I attached a pic of a Ravage toy, but the one I used was a repaint, and I dremeled the piece a lot...

I thought I'd post some new pics. I've added spikes to his back, making sure that they fit in vehicle mode. Next I want to add some pieces to the sides of his body to help reduce the look of that big gap. Then I think he'll be ready for paint and stickers...

Never replied, I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm going to be using a Vehicon chest in place of the original and put some other pieces on to make it look more like a Prime design. Haven't gotten very far though...

    Yours is looking great!

    7-25-13: Construction complete, stickers added

I have finished construction and applied Reprolabels! Next time I work on him will be his first paint job, then if I'm not done he'll go into my rotation of unfinished customs.

    - I added a piece to the other side of the pin holding in the feet to keep them from falling out.
    - I wanted to cover the gap in the back. After a few different attempts, I finally found a method that was satisfactory to me. There are a couple pieces slid onto twist ties. In vehicle mode, they swing around behind the feet and go up in the back.
    - I wanted to do something similar to the gap in the front but wasn't able to get anything to work. So I used what little room I had in vehicle mode and glued a couple pieces to his sides to make him look a little better.

After his first paint job I'll take some "gallery pics" and post them. I'll also try to put together a post featuring pics of his transformation...

This is really neat and I can see the loads of hard work on this. I wish they actually made this figure to compliment Crank case.

    Superb job sir
