One thing I can't believe with these japanese exclusives are the online retailers prices for them, sometimes they're like 40% more then the figure really is. This thing is not worth $150, but in Japan it only costs like $80; why such the big mark ups?

 

I can't name numbers, as I'm not carrying this myself, but the general gist of it is this. Retailers have to account for:

• The initial cost of the figure
• The cost of having to have people go and get it for you (multiple people, usually, as they often limit the per-person purchase on these figures)
• The cost of consolidating them all someplace
• Then getting them packed and send over at a reasonable speed.
• Then paying import taxes.

It adds up fast. Especially with the exchange rate trending continually against our favor.

 

The best solution is to just move to Japan. Otherwise you have pay people to do the work for you.
