I chose to make Crankcase super dark with only minimal metallic paint because I felt that it added to his scary, dangerous, villain image. If I made him to metallic he would have looked nicer and not so scary and villainous. I hope you agree too.

    Awesome!
It may be minimalistic, but its very, very effective. Definitely conveys that predator-like vibe that the character was seemingly meant to convey by the designers.
And as usual, I am always impressed with the painting skills I am constantly exposed to in these threads. Again awesome Job mate!

Thanks. It was very easy to do too. First I painted it flat black, all of the robot parts; I left the car parts gloss black because that's how that Chevy truck looks like in real life and in the film. Then I lightly brushed gunmetal onto the limbs, hands, head and body. Silver was used on the crown and the teeth and the mandibles were painted with gold; he has a grill! Copper, steel and silver were used to highlight parts on his abdomen and on his hands. Then once that was dry I coated it with future floor wax and then sprayed dull cote onto it.

    Wicked. :thumb

The wings look out of place with that grey though. Maybe you could make them black like the rest of the body?

    Start with Flat-Black to Prime.

Then use Gunmetal as seen in photos.
For the finish, i would brush chainmail highlights to some details. using a tiny brush

Though brushed aluminum is a fan-favorite (mine too), it seems gun-metal is more accurate to the movie model...

Excellent , the gunmetal really looks better than the shiny paint most people use on him. May I ask what brand gunmetal you used? Thanks.

Thanks guys! I used Tamiya gunmetal and metallic grey. I finished him a while back but I forgot to add new photos. Probably going to add highlights to the gun, just haven't thought about it until now.

i always use Citadel Boltgun Metal as darkest metal tone....

i like i cause its easy to drybrush with. Revell or Vallejo isnt that fine for me.

    greetings
