Can't believe I just noticed this. The Ark Autobots in DOTM are really armored up Autobot Protoforms. The shoulder pads pop up.

Their alt mode are likely the meteorite form. The pieces that break off upon re-entry are likely not just space detritus but pieces of armor as well.

and the reason the Autobots on the Ark were probably more beefed up than normal Autobot Protos is that those on the Ark were probably Sentinel Prime's Royal Guard.

I think they're entirely different altogether. I can't really spot any matching parts except maybe the fingers and chest.

Well, yes. Theyd be in protoform mode, reasonably, during travel. That's what it was established Autobots travelled through space as. If they needed to bail out, they could then adopt a form that was suited to their needs.

Hey this is also what the average Decepticon cannon fodder looks like too.

Not everyone can become a legend. Especially when it looks like most cybertronians don't live long enough. But yeah, it is sort of a step down from the previous universes where nearly every cybertronian is unique and individualized in terms of aesthetics and personality.

There's a good chance this is true but we can only speculate. Good observation nonetheless.

Wrong. In the comics Sentinel had no guards and he was just in a random group of 'the best of the best' who went on the Ark.

the comics were just garbage. Remember... These are the same comics that brought back the Arcee sisters just to kill one off again and leave 2 alive to then never show back up in the 3rd movie.

Actually the Protoform is just the bare bones of an Autobot.

Remember here Transformers have a self regenerating molecular armor. This explains how they can reconfigure themselves trans-scanning.

The Ark Protoforms are armored versions of the 2007 models. Also if you've noticed a part of their shoulder pad pops up.

Umm... the comics followed the original script of the movies and the reason for their deaths was the original script did not kill off all the Arcee sisters. It was also not the fault of the comics that the Arcee sisters did not return in the third... it is the fault of the movie-verse.

    Also;

In the movie 2 were killed and the third never reappeared.
In the comics 1 was killed and the other two never reappeared.

You cant say the comics were garbage without saying the movies were garbage as that problem happened in both.

Still begs the question of why Shockwave only has one eye... especially considering the 'bare bones' have two eyes...

Shockwave's a rebel. He's not gonna be part of the system :lol

Anyway, that's a pretty cool page, Redwolf. I love reading about the finer points of Transformers! :D

    And what's that? Meta-digital?

Shockwave has always been like that.

Decepticons don't change that much from their original forms.

Most of the Decepticon protoforms has Balackout/Grindor's face.

In DOTM we had a Long Haul protoform turning to a garbage truck. Also the Dreads has the main three and a mass number of protoform versions of them. Hatchet has bigger versions on Cybertron.

As for the page I forgot where I copied it from.

I'm picturing those protoforms as the zombies from Prime.
