I'm not into Wreck-Gar in G1 or Animated.

    G1, he was just annoying...

Animated, he was only on one episode, with some character development, but not enough for me to like him.

For some reason, I'm looking at the Animated Toy...

Anyone else not really into G1 and Animated Wreckgar... but like the toy?

This is why I generally buy for the mold rather than for the character. I can dislike a character but really like a toy. Hell I can like a character and really dislike a toy.

The Animated Wreck-Gar figure looks amazing, if you're interested in the toy itself, may as well get it.

Hell, I hate Wheelie but I really want his Legends figure.

Animated Wreck-Gar makes me want to buy the original Wreck-Gar.

Wasn't too big of a fan of G1 Wreck-Gar...but I do have Animated Wreck-Gar and it is a pretty sweet figure.

I didnt really care for the g1 character or toy. As a result of that I havent made it a priority to acquire his g1 likeness. I do really like what I've seen so far in the animated version. I'm way hooked on animated so he was going to be purchased anyway, but I'm really looking forward to getting him. Looks like an awesome toy. His character on the show was ok. His toy looks alot better!!

I'm pretty much the opposite. If the toy doesn't fit the character, I'm not buying it (Ultra Onslaught & Silverbolt, Galvatron).

And a toy can be really good, but I could care less about the character, and so again I wouldn't buy it (Acid Storm).

I'd buy a Classics Wreck-Gar though, that's for sure. Probably two, for him to ride on the other.

Anyway, as for your dilemma, I say hold off on the purchase. Buy him when you've got the spare cash to blow and you don't see anything else in the aisle that you want.

Well, IMHO if it was me, I wouldn't get him, because you'll get him just for the sake of having a figure, there are better uses for your money, like a figure that you really like or a rare itme on ebay etc. just my opinion though.

Considering that the TFA one is SO perfect in robot mode that he looks like a normal action figure of the show-guy, you should get him. He is truly a good toy.

I'd get him, if just for the multitude of All Yankovic references in his bio and character.

I hate Wreck-Gar as a character in both G1 and Animated, but I'm definitely getting his toy since I really like the transformation & engineering of it. That's actually what convinced me start buying Animated toys in he first place. I'm still not a fan of how they look in bot mode, but I appreciate the engineering.

TF:A Wrek-gar's face is show accurate, but I really don't like Weird Al or want him staring at me from my display shelves. I want to be a completist with this line, but I don't like the character.
    Dilemmas galore.
I actually liked the G1 Wrek-Gar character, and have the toy (brick that it is). I'll probably get the new one just for the line, and move on to the next purchase.

I too buy on the merits of the mold. If you like the mold get it.
