Sorry if it's been mentioned, but this, IMO, is a great release for Bluray.
I actually first heard of Gotham Knights last night when I watched a promo for it. It looks awesome.
Ah yes, I forgot about this. Thanks for the reminder!
It's called Gotham Knight (singular) by the way.
Ooops, my bad, and I should have known that, as there is only one Batman, thus one knight. heheh
My roommate may be picking this up today.
I think that if you buy it at Best Buy, you get movie money for The Dark Knight.
That's a win/win in my book.
It was pretty good the last story is the best one.
Ugh. Just in time for me to have no money! Hooray!
Well gotta hope I can still find the LE collection for Begins by Friday.
All the special editions have movie money for Dark Knight. The one at Frys had it also. Both versions have the IMAX Prologue for Dark Knight (That is, the special edition and Regular BluRay). Basically, the Special edition has the book and some cool cards, but most, if not all, of the extras are the same. Best Buy does have a special edition version of the Gotham Knight (with a metallic case), but I don't believe the Bluray comes with that, so I skipped it. I just picked them both up. I hate that most blurays don't come with any type of booklet, LAME.
The Gotham Knight comes with a preview for DC universe's Wonder Woman. Must be a new animated movie or series. I hope they keep these coming, like New Horizons...
I checked out some of the info on Gotham Knight and I like the idea. I might have to pick these up.
Last seasons of The Batman & Teen Titans also street today.
Anybody else get the El Cheapo $13 Target Edition regular DVD of Gotham Knight w/a sticker about having a bonus Batman Beyond disc...and it ain't in the case? I've bought something from Target before, Spider-Man movie maybe, that had a similar promo and the bonus disc was just stuck on a card inside the sealed DVD. I figured that's what was going on here, too. I wants my BB, dammit.
Is it worth $29.99 Canadian for the metal case version (regular 2 disc $27.99)? I want it but that seems kind of steep.
gotham knight was EXCELLENT.
...its raining and I dont wanna go outside....
tomorrow it is.
Came in the mail from Netflix today.
Glad I didn't buy it. I'm about halfway through, and it's freaking terrible.
the first segment with the kids was just...some of the worst shit I've ever seen.
Maybe it's the fact that I don't like the animation style. I'm so fucking sick to death of every goddamned cartoon these days having to be anime or anime-influenced. Ugh.
Glad it was a rental and I didn't waste my $$$ on it.
Watch the Legend of the Darkknight (original series). It's the same story, with the three kids telling their version of Bats. Oh, and the last one, Deadshot, is Really nice. But I do admit, they aren't all good. Still glad I got it on blueray. Some of the styles suck, but some of them make Bats look amazing. They aren't all Anime-inspired. If they could do a series with the Final Episode's Animation style and story.....Shiver
The Deadshot segment almost redeemed the disc. That one was stellar. The rest? Bleh.
The one with Killer Croc and the scarecrow was pretty good as well
I am watching it now and my god it sucks. So far the only redeeming quality is that they got the original batman voice. But like Devilsfan, the animation is crap. I am also against the whole Anime inspired look. Bruce Wayne looked horrible in that golf segment. He looked like any other anime character, stupid light long brown hair and all. The kids was a cheap rip off of the Dark Knight episode of Batman TAS/Gotham Knights.
I did like the tribute to "The Batman" with the 2 detectives resembling their TV show counterparts. I believe they named one Montoya from the original series as well but can't remember.
But overall, it sucks. It seems that DC is off and on. Superman: Doomsday was mediocre but New Frontier was excellent. This just seems like a poor attempt to leech off The Dark Knight.
