Looks like there is going to be new lower price points and a big redesign.

Nobody should ever buy an Apple product unless the latest model just came out. But good heads up for people who are not in on the loop. Dont like the new Nano look. I am interested though to see what is changed/what the price is with the Touch as I am thinking of getting one.

iTunes hates my computer anyway, so 8.0 won't matter, and my nano is fine.

It sounds like lowering the price to get them under the iPhone's $199 price I don;t expect to see much bigger storage size being added, but that's just a guess.

I just got my first iPod classic as an unexpected gift at the end of last year so but if I had paid for it I would be a little bummed out right now.

My iPod (~20-40 Gigibytes) is 5 years old and it works just fine with my computer. There have been no problems with it.

If the price drop rumors are confirmed before my 30 days run out on my ipod touch, I'll return it and buy a new one.

Let's not forget that Kevin Rose also said before the first iPhone came out that it would have a flip out keyboard and two separate batteries, one for the phone and one for the rest of it.

I like Diggnation and all, and Kevin certainly has to have sources with his stature, but maybe his Apple source is not so good given past evidence. Also, Apple has not sent a cease and desist, which they usually do when photos or details hit close to the mark.

Not saying it's not real, and since new iPods almost always come out in September/October there are almost certainly new models coming, but I'm not going to get too excited yet.

Meh I bought a touch in July and am happy with it, next upgrade will be an iPhone anyway so I would rather wait out a rate drop on that anyway. (Insert I hate Rogers line here)

happy with my current refurb touch! BUT depending on the features I may consider upgrading to the new one. I read somewhere that rumor is that the new touch will have a camera, GPS and bluetooth! Obviously take it with a grain of salt! but you never know!

Don't want to start A new thread so I'll ask here

Can I put Podcasts on my Ipod and If I can, how do I do this?

Update : Just realize it adds them on its own.

I wouldn't buy an Ipod even if I didn't already have an Iphone. I hate how limiting my Iphone's Ipod is for music. My Sony Walkman doesn't require me to use Itunes, or Sync my Mp3 Player. I just drag files into a folder (like any memory stick), and the player will sort by artists, album, etc. but also sort by the folder's I made, just in case the songs are not recognized or were ripped from an old Compilation CD that Itunes doesn't recognize.

In addition do that, it pumps out a nicer sound. And it's cheaper.

Sony took its sweet time getting to that point though- you used to have to work through a HORRIBLE software frontend unless you got a Japanese .exe that launched off the player itself.

<3 my A800 series though, its sound is remarkable and it's part of the first generation to ditch that damned software. :D

As for the new iPod stuff- yeah, small grain of salt for now. If the new pricepoints do pan out, I wonder if that'll cause a marketwide price-lowering.

I've wanted a I-pod for 3 years now. But all I got was a crummy Zen that makes my computer blue screen when ever I try to put music on it. Thought that nano looks good.
