Shia is a great choice. He was fantastic in Holes (yes, I've read the book, and one of the reasons it was such a great movie was that Louis Sachar wrote both the book and the screenplay). His character in Constantine was also well-played, just short of being too annoying to root for. If the rest of the casting is as good, I'm looking forward to the human parts more than ever.

Hoping they can work Chuck Norris in somewhere...of course, one roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris would turn Soundwave back into a tape player.

That is pretty much his role in EVERY movie but he definitely can act, especially in the more sentimental episodes of Even Stevens.

He seems like the perfect person to capture the awe of a young guy surrounded by giant alien robots.

I'm guessing this is a clean slate for the humans in the films. As in..no Spike or Carly, the Armada brats..er...kids...or the others that have been in the comics or shows.

Would have been nice to at least have Spike in there....but maybe his name trademark was given up...or they're just doing what I said...a clean slate.

At the very least reading does help to improve written and spoken grammar.

Let's hope this doesn't turn out like some "Voltron" episode, 85 minutes of running around looking for the giant robot, and 5 minutes of the giant robot.

Without going into a huge discussion, that is a not so exaggerated fear of mine.

Ah! Someone is listening. :D  Exactly Shaun!

Damage my case? I'm explaining my OPINION, I'm not trying to win a debate. I wasn't trying to have some following. I can care less if people don't agree with me.

And as for a person's "character", if everyone is an individual, theres no general picture that can show us what that person is all about. It's funny how you couldn't point out the "character" from the innuendos in the post that I was replying to in the first place.

Agreed, but those things still don't make a person intelligent, it just helps with the illusion. :)  You can put a business suit on a pig, but that doesn't mean he can run a business.

I'm hoping that his smarks will be the majority of the humor of the film, that way there's not too much of it... this movie should be a really serious story for it to be the blockbuster they dream of...

Well he's still 'Witwicky' so that's half a nod at least.

Although I'm still holding out for 'Spike' as a nickname.

He starred in the Disney show Even Stevens as an annoying kid. Sure these kids shows are filled with characters who get away with murder, but this guy was disgustingly spoiled.
Plus his voice almost made it sound like the actor himself in real life is that spoiled! :puke2:

This is not good news. :(
