IGN Confirms Shia LaBeouf In Negotiations As "Sam" In Upcoming Transformers Movie

According to IGN FilmForce, Shia LaBeouf has been confirmed to be in negotiations by reliable sources to take on the role of "Sam" in the upcoming Transformers live action movie...

Shia LaBeouf's film credits include: Constantine, The Greatest Game Ever Played, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and The Battle of Shaker Heights.

No mention of that Disney show he starred in eh?

Anyway, I don't really mind this. No idea what others will think.

This kid is almost 20. How old was Spike? Too bad he looks like a stereotypical "kid." scary.

He was Constantine's sidekick in Constantine... But if you didn't see that, I guess the next prominent role would be the Charlie's Angels one...

I remember him from Project Greenlight though...

 

Was he any good in all those things he's been in?
I've only seen Constantine, techically I've seen Charlies Angles:FT but i wasn't really following it too closely if you know what I mean.

 

For me, he is great for this role and I don't mind him being casted at all.


Oh, and he also had a small role in I Robot as a punk kid.

Ah well. Guess he sorta fits the bill. We'll see how it goes

 

If he is the same person I am think of, I think he also had a minor role in iRobot as well

 

I don't think he's a bad choice at all... The kid's been pretty decent in all the films I've seen him in...  

 

Don't forget Holes. That was a pretty good movie. Decent story for a Disney movie. He was funny in Even Stevens as well.

 

They seem to be filling roles with actors that fit the parts rather than going out for big named stars. I like that and hope it continues.

 

I agree with Hiro Prime that at least it isn't some giant star just for the sake of having a giant star, though this guy is pretty much "on the rise"

I always remember him from Constatine and Irobot... interesting, so our Sam will highly likely be a smartass...

 

I've liked Shia LaBeouf in everything I've seen him in. And him being in the movie might be enough to get my siblings who like him to go see it. I think this can only be a good thing.

 

I was hoping Steve Carell would play Spike.  

I haven't seen Shia in much of anything aside from his TV stuff. Since I don't know anything about the "Sam" character, I can't really say. If Sam does equal Spike, he could fit the look.
