    Kid must have been coached!

Either that, or he's quite the TF fan.

I agree, he'd have to have been coached.

And what is up with the "selling to the audience who has never heard of Transformers". I don't think I know many people who aren't vaguely familiar with the idea behind Transformers. I know they want to capture the masses, but don't most people who would have any interest in this type of movie kinda have an idea of what a Transformer is?

Edit: Forgot to add that this is the most downloaded/watched trailer ever on Yahoo Movies, so there has to be a lot of people around the world that have heard enough about TF's to watch it.

Oh, okay. I'd been sorta wondering the same thing, but that clears it up.

I know most people here wouldn't think of 'transforming alien robots' if they hear the word TRANSFORMERS. Most probably they'd think of transvestites as the slang venezuelan-spanish word for transvestites sounds similar to TRANSFORMERS.

So, yes. I agree with Don Murphy and the other producers that they need to sell the concept to the audience. I think that's needed for the US market, and even more needed for foreign speaking countries.

you guys would be surprised how many people Don't know crap about Transformers except that it was a cartoon in the 80s.

Some of those guys asking questions sounded extremely geeky. Especially that last guy who kept tripping over his own words. I guess that's why he isn't a public speaker. :)

Hey - I was just having a minidebate with my brother the other day - he was questioning the plausibility of the fundamental concept.

Granted, I'm sure that he'll see the movie if it's good.

Interesting - at about 4:20-4:45 when they're talking about Soundwave, Murphy mentioned that Aaron Archer had come to a discussion with transforming CDs to show what might be possible for drones for a Soundwave CD player.

Wonder what that was - maybe the Kamen Rider disk animals, just to get a feel for the idea?
    http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=kamen+rider+disk+animals

    Or new concepts altogether?
