I too agree that Michael Jai White would be good. I really liked him in Spawn.

 

@CripNite: Cheadle is American, but even if he was British - those guys are way better at American accents than vice versa anyway

Okay, if this goes ahead, Nick Fury bitchslaps Rhodey before he first faces the camera, and Rhodey's face changes from being slapped so hard.

I'm with you. That's also the *only* thing that could make up for the missed opportunity in not having Jackson punch a snake in the face on that damn plane movie

 

Since Rhodey's supposed to be an Air Force Colonel, he doesn't necessarily have to be big, loud, and burly. It's just that Don Cheadle doesn't look at all like any military personel. And that I already established Terrence Howard as Rhodey.

 

Wow. WTF? First Rachel Weisz (of her own volition), then Katie Holmes, and now Terrance Howard. And the reason is more absurd, than the second. The Hell Man? What the hell? I honestly don't care how long MARVEL studios wanted to work with Don Cheadle, to change a characters actor in the middle of a movie trilogy is the dumbest thing to do EVER!

Its throws me, personally, out of the experience of the movie because I wanting that very thing that in the previous. They should never do this unless the actor is dead. I've got nothing against Don Cheadle, he's a brilliant actor, but damnit all, Howard was made for that role and it got me to liking him acting skills to boot. I could cuss up a profane twister right now! So many expletives... argggh.

I will never enjoy Iron Man the same again.

The actor was not "so good," and no, I will not boycott with you. In fact, I don't think you will even boycott. Every loves to gripe about this stuff, but he was a 2nd tier character that wasn't that impressive. It's not like they re-cast Keanu Reeves as Stark.

i dont really care who plays War Machine/Rhodes, as long as the movie can be twice as good as the first one

it doesnt change anything because, Iron Man is Iron Man, not Col. Rhodes

So Terrence is denying asking for a shit load of money? Hmm....

 

Yeah that seems fishy. If he already had a contract in place for future pictures then he'd still be owed money/whatever considerations for it to be broken, and he'd sure as hell know by now why the contract was dropped if that was the case. Marvel couldn't just cancel it mum without naming the considerations, or expect legal reprisal, the contract works both ways in favor of both parties.

I don't buy it at all.

cheadle's a great actor but even with the minimal amount of screen time Howard had as Rhodey i think he really made that character his own. I know that for me personally, it really is a huge shame if its all true. I have a hard time seeing many other people playing that role.

to me, he's as much Rhodey as Downey is Stark. and i cant see anybody else playing Stark as well as Downey had

 

At least they replaced a black actor with another black actor. I'm looking at you, Tommy Lee Jones as Harvey Dent in Batman Forever.
