It kinda has for me. I remember when the first movie hit, my brother fell in love with Barricade, and a few months later he got a Cobra Mustang, and I've been wanting Ironhide for years.

I never had any interest in foreign cars because I love American steel, but seeing Dino drive and handle on the freeway makes me look at that Ferrari in a new light (fat chance on getting one of those, though).

Have any of the cars shown off in the movies made you oogle a bit?

Well, whether or not TF had anything to do with it, the Camaro seems to be selling really well.

Not anymore than it did when I was a kid watching the cartoon. The Autobots should be awesome vehicles.

I want the Merc. used for Soundwave, and then drive all over Japan in it. Just to see the reactions because of *THAT* one scene.

Well Bumblebee has built up my love of the Camaro!!

But honestly, with all the "Dino" crap that was forced on Bay just to use a car, I'm not so fond of them now. That was total BS. Of course if Bay had a brain, he would have told Ferrari politely "thanks but no thanks, I'll go talk with Lamborgini!" Sorry, my thoughts on that subject! Just sayin'..............

However, now I seriously want a Stingray!!!!

Well, I want the following autobot prop cars:
    Mudflap (ROTF)
    Jolt
    Wheeljack

And the following prop trucks (both factions):
    Sentinel
    Mixmaster
    Sledge (the garbage truck)

I was in love with the Audi R8 before ROTF. Not that Sideways really did much anyway, but still. It has made me appreciate the Camaros more, though.

While I won't be buying any of these cars myself, I think it definitely had an effect, and one that will continue to pay dividends for GM in years to come as the generation that grew up with these movies reaches the stage where they are buying their own vehicles.

Obviously it's only one factor, and that only goes so far, but I expect it's probably had a significant effect in influencing the way people perceive the brand. It's about as high-profile a product placement as you can get.

when did he get a name? (curious)

    BluRayHiDef.

Besides, he was unique enough that the fandom has dubbed him such.

AS a kid, I remember loving cool cars in TV and movies. Cars were very 'important' to me, so I naturally was a fan of the ones on Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider.

The main reason why I was so intrigued by Transformers back in the early day was because they were cars, that turned into robots.

I'm sure if I was 5-6 again, I'd be as excited about Bumblebee as many kids are these days with the cars in the movies. There is excitement, but not the kind of rampant type that once took over my senses.

Lulz on those car companies when people find themselves more interested in non-commercial vehicles.

Aye, my parents thought I was weird for wanting Ironhide, but I saw that truck in person at this year's BotCon, and that sumbitch was sweeeet.

I am a Ford guy and everytime I watch these movies, I reconsider my thinking. I like GM a lot now more because of the movies. Of course I loved Barricade, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, and Sideways. Their vehicle modes are just beast.
