I think so,because THE MATRIX OF LEADERSHIP is an powerfull source of ENERGON maybe even unlimited!
I forgot to put the question mark!
No. It would have to be put into his (mainly intact) body to work, and if he dies with it inside him, presumably it would be destroyed.
(Just like the '86 movie, where it is implied that if he hadn't passed the Matrix before dying, it would have died with him.)
This right here. So if Sentinel Prime had succeeded in the end and had manage to murder Optimus Prime, then the Matrix would've died within him. Even if Sentinel had managed to retrieve it from Prime's chest, the Cybertronian artifact would never work for him.
but in ”86 movie the matrix could”t revive
The key point of The Matrix Of Leadership is not to revive dead Transformers.
But it can be destroyed, and must be re-earned in the movies by another. Presumably the other Primes deaths caused it to die, and Sam re-earned it. So if Sentinel retrieved it, as stated by PrimesRule, it would most likely have died--with a 50% of turning to dust again.
However, if it is earned by another, like say Ultra Magnus or Rodimus, as your other thread suggested, it would likely reform.
And of course it can be passed at will, as demonstrated by Sam doing it and by Optimus' attempt to do so.
Take Optimus' head. The Matrix won't grow him a new one.
Yeah, it can only decapitate Unicron and make the Autobots take back Cybertron at the last minute with little to no explanation at all.
In the Bayverse it's more a supercharged key. It can restart machines (including robots), but that's probably all it can do.
However, it would be interesting to see a negative version of the Matrix of Leadership. A Dead Matrix or Anti-Matrix would be a nice although obvious plot device.
Yes, reminds me of a plot I thought up that is definitely not going to be used. (Though I'm fine with it.)
TF4: Main enemy is Nemesis Prime, a creation of Unicron, who uses the Dead Matrix to power down earth's machines and gain an advantage. Any Autobot stabbed with it dies instantly, though it has a recharge time. Any Decepticon is resurrected not as they were before, but in a stronger form. He uses this on the Decepticons left in the ocean, like Brawl, Bonecrusher, etc. Eventually they win the usual epic Bayverse battle way.
TF5: The Decepticons from DOTM were sent into space, as obviously water didn't work that time. Nemesis retreats to Unicron, who instructs him to use it in combination on various Decepticons. So, he combines the Decepticons into three beings: Galvatron, Scourge, and Cyclonus. Unicron produced an army of Sweeps in place of Protoforms. They come in to prepare Earth for consumption (In other words, cleanse, kill, and smooth out the planet entirely), and are stopped by the Autobots as usual with the epic ending battle. Nemesis dies and Galvatron claims the Dead Matrix at the end.
TF6: Unicron shows up personally, with Galvatron now his Starscream, as he failed. World is destroyed entirely by Unicron's hand, leaving the Autobots and a handful of humans with Cybertronian-developed space gear (since humans are always in the cast). They must recreate the pillars, hold off Decepticon attacks, and bring back Cybertron, because it is Primus and was not destroyed, but rather sent into a pocket dimension in DOTM. Optimus uses the Matrix on Primus, only to discover that Primus cannot show himself because of the stress induced by the near-destruction. He can, however, become Optimus' ultimate armor suit. Optimus goes into the center and controls it himself. At the same time, however, as Galvatron is not a direct and pure creation of Unicron, he can rebel. He uses the Dead Matrix in a way Nemesis never wished to--to control Unicron. He becomes Grand Galvatron successfully (Seen that episode of G1?) and there is a final duel. Optimus wins. The end.
A. you still need to work on that typing
B. you have 8 active threads on the front page of the movie forum. why?
Like Sari's Allspark Key.
Maybe if Sam had kept the Matrix he'd have eventually turned into a teenage girl.
The only thing making Optimus Prime immortal is the writers don't have a character they can replace him with.
Kind of an interesting development in the live action universe that robots can die of old age. But Prime seems to be a very long way from that.
Bayformers Prime won't die. He killed death itself a long time ago.
No, his importance in selling toys is what makes him immortal.
The second-to-last thought in Megatron's head (the last being *Fuck Optimus Prime*) was that he would have survived this crap if he'd gotten a deal on Leader Class.
Nah, if you had to be alive to sell toys then the shelves would be clogged with Decepticon action figures since the Decepticons are only in the movie to die.
Fanrage in 1986 is what makes Optimus immortal.
Ha ha, that nails it better than anything else.
