Kind of a silly question, but I have seen some people complain about the name CHUG on here quite a few times.
And to be honest, it kinda bugs me too.. I have no clue why though. :lol
Think I might be calling them "Classics+" from now on.

So, how do you feel about this acronym?

Yeah, it just sounds stupid. I have to admit I see the appeal for a shorthand to refer to all of the classics/universe/generations molds as a whole, but the inclusion of the "H" for henkei makes things problematic anyway. Which toy am I referring to if I type "CHUG Sunstreaker?" It only works for those molds that have different names for the Japanese release. And anyway, most people are going to use "Henkei Sunstreaker" when referring to the Japansese release.

I'm getting used to ignoring it. My daughter loves the Chugginton TV show and it's not one of those shows I want to be reminded about when it's not on:

I don't like it because it incorporates the japanese equivalent into the name. I mean, we don't call Armada "Armicron Lengenda", Energon "Supenergink", Cybertron "Galaxcybertron Force", or RID "Car Robots in Disguise". Honestly, CUG or Classicsverse is sufficient for me.

It only bothers me in the sense that the constant need/desire to shorten or abbreviate things into acronyms and short-hand nicknames has happened to a line I just think of as "Classics." It bothers me as much as the crappy nicknames athletes get now, which usually end up their own names shortened into something that's very unoriginal ("the Iron Horse" or "the Galloping Ghost" vs. "A-Rod" or "KG"...seriously???). I like original nicknames, and Classics, even if it wasn't entirely official, felt nice and the acronym felt unnecessary. If other people want to use it though, that's fine.

I like it but it probably won't last much longer. Once Takara starts up their version of Generations, what will they call it? I doubt they use Henkei again

Doesn't bother me at all. What does bug me are fans that get so angry over a goddamn acronym.

I think it's appropriate considering every single Henkei figure has a different deco than their Classics versions and many Classics collectors have some Henkei figures mixed in their collection as well.

I actually kinda like CHUG because if you just refer to it all by Classics, which is good enough for me, some anal fan will correct you

I started it by calling it CUG and the person after me added Henkei into it and CHUG was born. So naturally I love it :)
