i never liked Transformers Animated but now seeing wheeljack from prime and loving the figure, isee how the TFA Rodimus kinda looks similar. at least in vehicle mode.

so my question is, do you think TFA Rodimus could fit in with the rest of the Prime line?

and if you have any pics of him with the Prime figures, that would be awesome!

No. Too clean and simple looking.

None of Animated fits aesthetically with Prime, IMO.

While he the Animated and Prime lines share similar aspects, they are still to different for me to put them side by side for display. But that's my own personal view of the aesthetics.

Animated has more disproportion and more of a cartoony look than Prime. Prime definitely looks more refined and sleeker.

Animated Rodimus' feet alone would not fit with the Prime line. I know it's a small thing but it'd drive me nuts.

For me, I don't care and just lump different figures together for the heck of it.

    Given I'm different, probably not.

Though I did test it out a day ago:

No, but DotM legion Bumblebee fits in perfect scale with Prime Cyberverse Arcee and Bulkhead.

Nope. TFA is cool and Roddy is a great TFA figure, he doesn't fit the aesthetic of Prime.

Roddy's sculpt is far too different than TFP too fit in.

I got mine out, put em side by side and...

Well, in vehicle mode Jackie and Rodimus look like they could be from the same line.

In bot mode it's iffy to say the least. Rodimus towers over Jackie. He looks like a short voyager next to Jackie. He's a good 2 heads taller. The color palettes are very different, which isn't a big deal as they are different colors. The design asthetics aren't so dissimilar they are obviously from different lines, but they do look different.

I understand the aesthetics differences between Prime and Animated, but when it comes to Animated Rodimus, I just don't care and cannot help but mix him with my Prime figures. To me, it's the best Rodimus we have and until another is made that is as pleasing he's on my perm shelf with whatever line I have out (usually new).

Well, if it is any consolation I'll be revisiting this when PRIDE Kup comes out. Animated gave us Blurr and Rodimus, so I'm hoping the PRIDE Kup is close enough to the Animated aesthetics that I can do a simple customization and call it good.

Looking the pictures... I guess the reverse is more true. Prime Wheeljack with a new head can looks good with Animated figures.

Well, I think with Rodimus and Wheeljack you're talking about two of the oddballs of their respective lines. While Rodimus in alt mode is clearly an Animated figure, in bot mode he's clearly got a few different design cues than the standard deluxe Animated.

Wheeljack's Alt mode is jarringly different than a lot of the other PRIDEs I've seen. Next to PRIDE Cliffjumper he looks like he's from a totally different line. In bot mode he's more clearly a Prime RID figure, but he's still a bit different.

Together they'd look good if it weren't for the jarring height difference in bot modes. They have a few different design cues, but nothing so totally jarring you couldn't believe they're from the same line.
