Telling everyone to shut the fuck up isn't really going to help this thread. I don't like to speak my own opinion, or try to stop someone, but this is just simply put it - bullying. Yes, the guy made an ignorant mistake. Doesn't mean he is stupid. Why cant everyone simply get along, stop fighting, and enjoy this sight for what its about - Transformers?

"Correcting" someone is basically the same thing as criticizing them. In terms of outlawing such, it'd be basically impossible to enforce without being even more subjective and arbitrary than the rules are already (due to simply the nature of discussion).

Of course, it's also worth pointing out that "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing" was something you've been unable to do in this post. I'm not saying this to flame you or anything, but to point out how difficult this is in practice. Negative commentary is just as essential to good discussion as positive commentary, otherwise things just turn into a circlejerk. But at the same time, it's no good for an environment to arise where users to go about attacking EACHOTHER constantly (or to attack users from other sites, for that manner), and that's where moderation comes in. Even then, though, it can be very tough for them, and the users as a whole, to know where the line is to have healthy, open discussion that isn't locked-down or a melee can be very difficult.

At the very least, though, I've always thought that turnabout was fair play.

Having a discussion is fair. Literally calling a person an idiot is another thing. If someone was to say, "No, its a radicon. Look in that section, and you should see the fine work that was forged there"...then thread wouldn't have changed into what it is at this point.

 

While I am not trying to excuse anyone, there may be a greater context behind some of the posts in this thread than you may realize.

 

So getting back on topic, does this custom transform and if so, I'd expect a lot of rub.

 

It does transform. He made the backpack detachable so you just put it back on when you want to transform him in truck mode.

Yeah, that's a tough thing to get right when it comes to customs. A lot of parts can get scraped or rubbed or bent during posing or transformation, especially when you think about the added thickness that even that small layer of paint leads to in terms of the tolerances in a transformation. I think I've seen some people use lacquer or sealant to make things a little more durable (and get a nice gloss on some pieces), but that just makes things thicker...
