Ive just been checkin out pic of the scout class beachcomber from rotf, and i must say that its a good fig and a great representation of beachcomber,
Now seeing as the reveal the sheild scout class windcharger is being hailed as a true minibot for the classics/generations line, does this mean that the formentioned comber counts as well,
speaking from a design view, i wouldnt say that either comber or charger represents the style of the movies, especially comber seeing as he is from the rotf line and seriously doesnt look like it (both really do look like the main source of inspiration is from the G1 toys)

    what do you think?

I like my Uni 2.0 Legends Beachcomber. The RTOF one isn't bad though.

It's a matter of personal taste. Do you want your no good hippy beatnikbot wielding shoulder mounted guns?

I got him to hang out with my ROTF Hoist and Brawn. All three look awesome together facing off against Mindwipe, Dirge and Bludgeon.

I generally treat ROTF Beachcomber as Movie Beachcomber, and Legends Beachcomber as Classics Beachcomber. The Dune Runner mold doesn't seem quite as hybrid-y to me, and feels more like a straight movie figure. However, this thread does give me another opportunity to pimp out my theory about his head sculpt: that the sculpt was done with a Beachcomber repaint in mind from the start, and was thus designed to look like Hippie-in-chief Jerry Garcia:

    Just a theory.

tftm storm surge, with a little customizing, was my first "scout classic" ^^. I did end up incorporating rotf comber as well eventually XD. The new windcharger is gonna be such a welcome addition too ^^

I'm weird because I bought that two-pack for Deadlift and gave Beachcomber away to Thew.

i find the legends minbots to be, well too damm small
i think there even smaller than the original G1 minibots,

for me the scout class size is perfect and am very tempted to add beechy to the classics mix (but i guess only if they follow suit and add the rest of the minibots to the scout class size (cmon gears and huffer - they really need some love)

gears with his cartoon head would look awesome in scout size (but please no more of this light grey plastic crap - sometime the figs look like grey skeletons with bits of a car strapped to their arms and legs)

I mix and match my lines continuously. I got the Walmart two pack to have Spoons and Beachcomber. I personally see no issues with them mixing and matching with Classics and beyond.

I think Cyb. Hardtop makes a better Beachcomber than Dune Runner ever will (after a bit of paint, of course).

But I'm sticking with my Beachcomber from the Henkei 3-pack for the moment.

Windcharger has a few differences from the original toy and animation model, but there are enough nods there to make it pretty obvious who it is.

Beachcomber..... not so conclusive, but it's not unusual for people to try to fill 'gaps' by shoehorning in toys that don't conclusively fit.

Personally, I'd love to have a deluxe Beachcomber made at some point. Then again, I'd love the same for the rest of the Minibots . . . .

What about Energon Beachcomber? he's a formidable friend for giant sized mini bots Classics Powerglide and HFTD Seaspray.

I have ROTF Beachcomber displayed with my Classics. I have the Legends Beachcomber too but he's not being displayed @ the moment. If I sell My ROTF, I'll take him back out.

It would if I liked the toy. IMO, it's one of those toys that feels like E-Ironhide in alt mode - a bit too "Playskool-childish" to me. The alt mode would also feel very strange to me with the rest of my Classics-Generations toys as well.
