Hello, I am just looking to get some opinions on what other Classics collectors feel about Nexus Prime and wether he (they) fit/belong in a Classics collection.

Nexus Prime is a multiverse character. Since it is one of the original 13 primes and the first combiner, Nexus Prime has a place in all universes.

I personally wouldn't put him there if I had one. Classics is essentially G1 updates, and he wasn't a G1 figure.

How likely is it that Has/Tak may release a Classics-verse version in the future?

If he looked like the card art, sure. But since he, well, looks the way he looks, gotta say no.

He belongs on an Energon shelf, pure and simple.

unless you base your display around fiction, in which case he has nothing to do with Energon

Energon repaints can never count as a classics version of anything whatsoever.

This may very well be a stab, but it sums up my thoughts completely. If they post an official pic on Hasbro's site which has artwork of several Classics characters next to one of the Fisher Price Go-bots, that doesn't make the Go-bots Classics. At all. Period.

I had this guy with my Classics but it seems to me he does not fit in. So the input will help me to decide on wether or not he stays in my collection or not. Thanks guys for the opions and keep the input coming.

He's on my classics misc Autobot shelf, I wouldn't mix him with the 84,85 or 86 shelves, but he fits just fine with the misc stuff. He doesn't quite fit with my Unicron trilogy as I only kept a few of the best figures from that line.

I personally never minded putting certain Unicron Trilogy figures with my classics (less Armada more Energon or Cybertron). The way I figure it G1 went with the more futuristic/space vehicle aesthetic in the third season anyway, making it fair game for the display shelves going forward.

I tend to group based on what I think works best anyway, regardless of toyline.

"Belongs" wherever you want him to. I have him on my "original 13" shelf with Primus, Vector Prime and a couple of stand-in figures for the other Primes.
