Does it disappoint you that we don't have transformation sequences?

They were in every series in my memory since Robots in Disguise. Even though they were hand-drawn, those series still had transformation sequences. Even Cybertron had them and it was a CGI series.

The complexity of the models is debatable but this may be a reason as to why we don't have transformation sequences. Even Animated had these sequences - though rare despite the fact that the "casual" transformations where super quick.

Doesn't match the tone of the series. They're not as much about flare and posing. Also, they made an effort to actually dirty them all up with chipped paint and such. I don't think a transformation spotlight really works for a non-pristine looking robot.

No. I don't need annoying stock footage clogging up the episode.

Well, the shows you're talking about were made in Japan as 'Anime' series and then translated for an American audience.

And I suspect Animated only had transformation sequences (rare as they were) because of the reference, as we all know how much Animated loved to reference anything TF that came before.

Even though Prime is animated in Japan, they probably wanted to set it apart from other series and do something original, it's the same reason why they use an orchestral soundtrack.

Or, maybe, they just didn't feel like animating them?

Nah, stock footage can go to mega hell.

But you know, we DO get some dramatic transformation scenes. They're not in slow-motion but we get them. We got a pretty detailed tf sequence from Nemesis Prime.

    Not in the slightest.

It would completly out of place in a show with a darker and mature tone like Prime.

I don't see how slowing down the sequence would be out of place. I'm not saying that bots should be jumping, transforming for flare then giving a thumbs up; I'm talking about actually seeing how the bots become robots from cars - similarly to TF1 or the end of DOTM. Heck, even like Nemesis Prime.

I love the instantaneous transformations in Prime. You know what else had fast transformations? G1. And they did it in an irreverent show as well as Prime does in a mature one.

I suppose it would depend on how they're done.

If they were done similarly to say, MECH's Prime clone in Nemesis Prime, when he transforms in the army base. If they had those kind of transformation sequences every now and again, I wouldn't object.

Didn't they KIND of do it with Arcee transforming back to a Motorcycle in Orion Pax Part 2?

Only like the second half of the transformation though....

Nope but what I would like is a more cleaner transformation instead of a jumbled mess of CG parts going everywhere but nothing like Unicron Trilogy and Animated. And definitely no yelling "TRANSFORM!"

In terms of lengthy, overused stock footage transformations (a la Armada, Energon, Cybertron, even Animated)? NO THANK YOU.

If you're referring to slightly longer transformations akin to Nemesis Prime's 8 second transformation where we get to see all of the detail? Sure. But NP's transformation being slowed down served a bit more of a purpose; showcasing that this was a glitchy, man-made machine attempting to replicate what is essentially a though-initiated muscle reflex for an alien species. Suddenly having Ratchet or Arcee show us an 8 second detailed transformation just for the fun of it after 1.5 seasons of quick transformations? Eh...

    This guy gets it.

At least it's not like in the Japanese dub where they yell TRANSFORM whenever they do so.

Every time i see an elongated transformation sequence i think to myself... "Why isnt their opponent (Autobot or Decepticon) blowing them up while they're vulnerable?" The war would have been over ages ago if Transformers took that long to actually change.

I also hate the fact that it eats up so much time which could otherwise be better used for.. i dunno... maybe more plot/story telling?

No, I hate them. Too anime for my tastes (not good anime, stuff like Pokemon, etc.).
