I think that it would be cool for Megatron changing sides, but I'm a huge fanboy of villains who see the light. Like this from another thread:

 

That would be interesting i mean Optimus and Megatron were both once brothers but i don't think it could work.

I think only one Megatron died a hero and that was the Armada version, too bad energon screws him up by bringing him back.

That would be intersting to see. I don't know if Shockwave would try to take command of the decepticons though. Starscream, we all know he would.
I personally think that Megatron should stay evil. But that is just what I think.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing Megatron have a bit of a hero moment in the movie. I don't really think we'd see him become completely good, but it would be nice to see him and Optimus team up for a little bit.

 

Based off his really Lethal attitude in the last 2 movies, it seems almost impossible to even think that megatron would just change sides. BUT Bay did give us a Hint to a possibility of megatron being betrayed:" shockwave has a bigger gun, more vicious". So there is a possibility, but at this point it's low. Im actually thinking that it will be a surprise in the movie at the chicago battle, because do you really think megatron ordered that invasion all on his own? It must belong to Shocky, with megs by his side.

...and one more hint: Bay said it was gonna be like a typical TF plot that you would find back during G1. He did his research. So if i were you, I'd go to the theater with hopes of seeing that happen, maybe even confidence that it would happen. I know i will.

 

Yes, but not for real. Like I said in the other thread, I would love a three on one battle between Optimus, Megatron, and Sentinel against Shockwave. But, once that's over, have his true intentions come out as he turns on everyone.

I think this could redeem the Movie version of Megatron in that he's not a dumbass, blind follower of the Fallen but more like Lex Luthor. He follows, snivels, helps, and teams-up with anyone, but has actually been ten steps ahead of everyone this entire time, and has always had his ultimate end-game in play.

 

This. No where in my post did I mention Megatron was being redeemed or becomes a hero.  

 

Interesting that you say megs was a bit stupid, his new mode is a hint at a very sinister crafty villian in the making for DOTM. Maybe the production have grown a brain also lols

 

i think this is a possibility, During filming in chicago we saw that big blue prop which turned out to be megatron's;



I heard rumors that Carly was filmed on top of it trying to turn Megatron into a good guy, so you never know.

Megs changes sides? NEVER!!!

If anything Optimus and Megs will team up to stop Shockwave, but then Megs will turn on Optimus right away and then they have their epic battle.

 

If that is megs arm, it could mean megs is dead and sam is using his gun arm which would be a shame
