I must say I'm kinda dissappointed with today's Transformers complexity. Just how simple they can be, like RiD Soundwave and DoTM Bumblebee. I really miss the days of RoTF's complexity.

Does anyone else miss this as well? I loved the complexity of Voyager Mixmaster, Deluxe Sideways and The Twins, and even Leader Prime.

So does anyone miss this? Or are you okay with easier transformations?

Nope. I have more fun and fiddle more often with toys that aren't stupidly frustrating to transform. To this day I still haven't transformed Mixmaster back to his truck mode.

Truth! A lot nicer to have stuff you can fiddle with and not worry about you twist 1 thing odd you have multiple panels falling off.

i got Leader Sentinel, Skyhammer, Deluxes Jolt, Crankcase, Laserbeak, Roadbuster, Topspin and a bunch of Ha Basics from Dotm line. Non of these strike me as too simplified for their size classes. (well may be Laserbeak).

I missed the size and paint apps from Rotf badly tho.

I liked some of the complicated transformations, especially in some of the voyagers and leader class OP.

Not really since I'd hate to break another figure.

I like the engineering involved in these clever, intuitive Transfomations. In other words, I'd rather transform PRID Wheeljack than ROTF Sideways.

Yes and no. Leader Prime is a magnificent piece of engineering, but at the same time, so is PRiD Wheeljack. I guess, for me at least, it depends on the figure.

Actually, yes. Some of the RID figures (Arcee, I'm lookin' at you) are just too simple.

Not particularly. I didn't much enjoy spending God-knows-how-long fiddling around with an awkward mess of parts-- not only was it annoying in and of itself, it actually made the final result feel like it wasn't worth it.

nope i most certainly do not. Leader class Optimus Prime from ROTF is master work of toy engineering but its it suffers from over complication to meet the need for its altmode's screen accuracy.

Give me and well thought out and intuitive transformation any day *looks at my Energon Leader Megatron*

No. I feel that Cybertron had the best of both worlds. Good looking designs and not too terrible transformations.

I do and will never understand what's supposed to be so complicated or frustrating about any of them.

I really missed it during DOTM. Complicated transformations aren't needed (and shouldn't be used) for most Classics-styled designs, as well as Prime designs, but they're necessary in order to do Movie designs right. I really hope the Movie 4 line is more like ROTF than DOTM.

Aside from Nightmare Leader Optimus, I never really found the transformations "difficult" as much as "needlessly finicky". But sometimes I wondered if the transformations were just getting more complicated simply because they could and not because of any actual NEED for them to do so. I'm not missing them at all.

Personally, I think the level of difficulty Hasbro has hit right now is the level where things aren't too difficult but at the same time not too easy that it just doesn't feel worth it. Prime Wheeljack is a great example of this, as he's got some complicated leg transformation moves that is only done in a few easy steps, and overall can turn a compact little not-Lancia car into a stout and sword-wielding warrior with minimal fuss.

    Don't miss it a bit.
It's nice to not go backto the instructions everytime i need to transform them.

Yes and no. While I loved the complex transformations, but if the same robot mode can be pull off with a simpler transformation that will take less time to convert than a complex one will, I'll take the simple one. Less the simple ones robot mode looks like shit *coughDOTMVoygerOptimuscough*

voyager mixmaster was a pain. i loved leader optimus and leader sentinel. when you look at them in robot mode, their vehicle mode is very hard to see. sideways and sideswipe are cool too. though i enjoy simplicity as well. im satisfied with the newer ones.
