If you some of you guys enjoy an easy level of customizing, one thing I did with some of my Mechtech weapons is remove the spring, and then apply super glue to the gears. While the glue is drying, continually move the gun in and out of transformation. The end result is a gun that transforms very tightly and it's spring loaded.

I always take the springs out. But the only situation where I thought one could use some tightening up would be Deluxe Roadbuster's chainsaw gun. It refuses to stay in gun mode.

I do miss the spring loaded guns. I used to like buying Transformers toys with missile firing gimmicks and shoot my friends with toy missiles, like Miggytron.

    Hasbro needs better weapons.

Vector prime's sword is awesome and then you get these horrible cheap or goofy (voyager gimmick) on prime figures.

Hasbro please paint and arm the figures better

Energon, that was the season I loved the weapons, they didn't usually have a gimmick and they clipped onto the figure.

When I was a kid the springs were neutered in TF's in the UK. I remember being amazed my G1 Optimus from HK could actually shoot his missiles.

Having said that these days I'm not a particular fan of firing missiles or Mechtech, I prefer weapons that look cool. Best weapon for any TF EVER was G1 Doubledealers massive missile that split into a bomb/rocket and gun.

Spring loaded weapons are god tier compared to these PRID Voyager Mechtech monstrosities.

Spring loaded is, oh, one billion times better than mech tech IMHO.

Spring loaded all the way! You could actually PLAY with them and have figures battle. Now it's like "I hit you" "No you didn't" bla bla bla weak sauce!! I can't understand why anyone would not prefer spring loaded!

I'm sorry, I can not answer this poll, why?

Because I don't miss those types of weapons, what I really miss are good, properly designed and fit with the character Melee weapons! :lol

Yes it's true, I've long since wanted to see more TFs with Swords and Staves and Ninjitsu weapons, hell, I even coined an entire new branch of G1 Mythos for my fan-made characters. I called them Weaponmasters, in the vein of Targetmasters, only with Melee weapons. It was pure fun, and I wish that Hasbro would get their act together and give the Transformers proper melee weapons again. If it is supposed to be a sword, make it look like a damn sword.

Quirkyness aside I dig Heavytread's partner Groundspike, he's basically a two fingered energy glove of melee goodness. Why can't we get more weapons like that?

G1 Prowl's rifle was probably the most elegant TF weapon I can recall.

I'm sure safety standards won't allow anything like that again (choking hazard mostly)
