Does anybody know if Polygong studios can reuse character models and backgrounds from their other projects?

It may solve their problem of limited time to make human character models and backgrounds.

Didn't they make projects like Onimusha and Street Fighter 2. If they tweak the character models from those, they might save time.

Am I right in thinking that this is technically possible? And is it legally permissable?

And if that works, why not just purchase backgrounds, landscapes and character models from other studios such as digital scape? They might save time making hundreds of character models and backgrounds if they can do that.

This. Every time Prime talks I feel like he´s giving a lecture *sigh* Awesome design tho.

Still like way more than Animated. Awesome fights, awesome designs and the Autobots aren´t made fools of 90% of the time.

After the first five part mini-series, I wasn't quite sold on the show yet. I figured I'd still continue to watch when I had a chance. However, I wasn't going to make it a point to catch every episode. It just so happens that I've caught every episode. And the more that I see of the show, the more that I like it.

On a side note, I'd like to point out that Transformers: Prime is very much what I had always hoped to get out of the Star Wars:Clone Wars animated series. I'm not saying that Star Wars:CW is a bad cartoon. I enjoy the animation and the vocal cast. But I had always hoped that the Clone Wars would provide a better continuity the way that Prime has. It's like the writers need to take a class in writing from the Prime writers.

I'm not going to say bored but I'm not feeling excited either. It's kind of like I'm hanging around in the hopes that maybe things will take off in season two like with some other cartoon series.

Prime is never there, Ratchet is stuck at the base most of the time, Bumblebee can't speak like everyone else so that kind of makes it the Bulkhead and Arcee show. Yes I understand a smaller cast give more room to build character but with the other characters being limited it feels like a two bot show some times.

The episodes are getting a little too predictable and while things started out all cool like all the Autobots were in real danger it's gotten so easy for the Autobots to win that it doesn't feel like they are in any real danger any more. Sad but the Scraplets felt far more dangerous than any Decepticons have in a long time.

It's going to sound a little weird but I kind of miss Sari Sumdac being able to point out how alien the Transformers really are. I like the human cast but the Autobots seem almost too adapted to human culture.

The Decepticons seem to be where the real characters are at, but we just don't seem to ever get enough of them. The show might be a little more interesting with more Decepticon time and maybe replacing a few of the troopers with some actual characters since the Decepticons not getting along is far more entertaining than the Autobots right now.

Well to be fair they have been on earth longer then the Autobots in TFA, were.

There are still little bits here and there in where you get a feeling of a cultural gap. Like Ratchet calling a demolition derby blood sport.

Paxtin's right. TFP Autobot's have been around here for 3 years apparently.

TFA Autobots? Poor things woke up one day and were already in a different world dealing with different creatures.

Establshing the universe and the characters is fine but so far Prime has done it in a lackluster way imo. Beast Wars season 1 was Primarily to set up the universe and the characters and was so much more exciting. I think Lord of Tetris explained it quite well. Beast Wars had many different interactions among the cast. Dinobot and Rattrap always arguing was fun to watch. Megatron and Tarantulus always scheming but sometimes against eachother. Inferno's personality being heavily dominated by his beast mode. I also loved the spark of romance with Tigatron and Airrazor. I also loved that even though Tigatron came along late due to being older he acted as a mentor to Cheetor and you can see Cheetor mature to a degree as the show goes on. All of these dynamic relationships are what made the slow plot build still exciting and fun to watch. Prime as Tetris said have had little dynamic interactions with the autobots and still not enough with the cons.

I understand that the first season is the build up but i just find it to be dull.

True dat. Though more often than not they're the former. The only bland episodes were Speed Metal, Shadowzone, and Crisscross.

And I don't get all the Optimus hate. He basically a less psychopathic movie version. He doesn't NEED character development, just because the audience is already familiar with who he is, what he does, and why he does it. Plus he's fuckin Peter Cullen. So yeah.

The series is unremarkable. That's the best word I can use to describe it. Not boring; unremarkable.

It has its moments, but overall, it's fairly boring. It has been too bad as of late, but earlier episodes ... God ...

Prime may not have exactly that, but as for its own character dynamics, it has plenty. Starscream has probably been the most dynamic of any of the characters in the show. There's Arcee's sordid past with Airachnid. You also have the character dynamic of Knockout being a Decepticon medic that is an automotive enthusiast who liked to engage in illegal street racing.
And unless you're the anti-human trans-fan type, the dynamics between the humans and the transformers have been pretty good at times. Better then in most past TF shows.

I agree that there seem to be too many people who appear to be impatient with the show, because it's not personally catering to what they want to see right now. And who knows, it might never give them what they personally want. But does that mean the show is generally boring? Not in the least.

Agreed..and you're right, can't please everyone, but they have a choice, to stop watching and then they won't be bored anymore. :thumb

Just a little typo..I think you mean "sordid" past, not sorted. :)

Maybe I'm just off base with this but I think some of the Prime let down for people is that we don't have enough of him.

We have Peter Cullen, we've got the wise old Prime back, he's the big blue and red metal boyscout again, he holds his own in a fight and then some, but he's hardly around for us to enjoy all his greatness.

I can understand the fear the production team might have of Prime overshadowing the other characters, but Primal didn't steal Beast Wars so I think they could do more of Prime without him taking over the show all the time.

Not boring at all. Some episodes are not as good as others, but I've liked them all and loved quite a few.

The show thus far actually reminds me a lot of Babylon 5's first season. it started off very slow, and in comparison to other sci-fi shows that were on at the time, like X-Files, Seaquest DSV and Deep Space Nine... It wasn't really holding it's own all that well. (I know, that's a loaded statement considering what became of Seaquest.) A lot of the first season episodes were slow, unimpressive and sometimes... Just outright bad. We knew it had the potential for greatness, but some episodes looked like they were taken directly off plots meant for Deep Space Nine. Basically, it wasn't horrible or great... It was just... There. It coudl have been more, but it wasn't for some reason.

Then all that got thrown out the window during the season finale where they completely threw every expectation for a loop, killing cast members, replacing some, and starting a slow build to a rather massive and epic galactic war that spanned over three seasons, which ended up being a grat memorable sci fi show. And that's what it feels like that TF: Prime is doing. It feels like it's building a slow start to much bigger things. Bigger things have been hinted at. (One big thing in particular.) Some status quo's been shaken up a bit with Starscream going rogue, and the rumors of a major cast member buying it at the end of the season.

Now I hope it's going that route, and will be kicking up a bunch of notches at the season's end... And not going the Clone Wars route where we get these amazing promises of stuff that puts the movies to shame, and ends up just being Padme' talking about socialism with a bunch of tea-drinking Mandalorians.

    Here's hoping for the best.

I actually do not mind the humans in this show which is the second time a transformers cartoon human characters did not piss me off (armada humans are the worst in a tf cartoon ever). Animated being the first so thats a bonus. Miko can be annoying but i am in now way a member of the "Miko must die" camp. And i agree that this show has plenty of interactions. Airachnid and Arcee episodes are the best imo. As well as Bulkhead and Breakdown. Breakdown being voiced by Adam Baldwin still brings me joy. I just found that the character interactions in Beast Wars were more enjoyable but thats just my opinion.

Like I said this show has incredible potential and I am looking forward to season 2 because i think that it will get really exciting than.
