Is Jolt still a film character to you?

Alright, lets face it. Jolt was an extremely minor Autobot character added at the last minute to ROTF because Chevy wanted to promote their new Volt.

In the film, there are only 2 scenes in where we see Jolt's robot mode, and a couple others where we see him in vehicle form. He never has any speaking lines, and the only time he is seen doing anything is when him and Ratchet helped Optimus in combining with Jetfire's corpse.

Then of course when DOTM was nearing completion, we heard that Jolt would not be making an appearance in the film at all. So a character, who was really a mystery to us all in ROTF, had been dropped, never getting the chance to shine on the big screen.

Now, I am aware that Jolt is feature more prominently within some of the comics that follow ROTF, particularly Rising Storm. But does that really make up for his lack of action within the films themselves? He is easily killed off by Shockwave during his attack on Diego Garcia.

So I ask this simple question: Was Jolt a true film character to you, or has he been forgotten and cast aside?

As much as I like his design and his underdog status, he was sadly just a generic Autobot.

He was a wasted opportunity with a kickass design. I'm disappointed that this design was so wasted.

He helped combine Jetfire and Optimus. Pretty damn important, even for a generic bot.

He existed, and technically he saved the world. But, in the end, he was wasteed potential. He was much more prominent in the comics though, so that's OK.

Dude. Jolt put a giant dead Robot together with a barely functional Robot in like 20 seconds to make this:

That is no small task for ANYONE.

    Jolt was a Mirage

    **************

And yet I have seen fanboys proclaim how awesome of a character he was, and how well animated, and nuanced, and that even in a 6 frame clip, how masterfull he was presented.

Maybe Jolt grew a lot older in the sequel and lost his memory and became uber smart. Then since he lost his memory, he made up a new name for himself, but the film makers changed the name for him.

He helped OP put on his Jetfire coat. Yes, he was in the film. C'mon there were still more human statists than Cybertronian statists.

    Two words:

    "JOLT, ELECTRIFY!"

He was in bot mode and alt mode on screen, made Optimus awesome, even had his name said, I'd say he existed.

Small screentime or not, he was a very important character for the whole Jetpower Optimus stuff, so yeah, he's real to the movies in my eyes :D

There has never at any point in transformers history been a transformer named Jolt.

    Nope.

    Never.

    Put away that TFwiki link.

Jolt was more of a MacGuffin than an actual character.
