So did anyone catch the Children In Need special with Peter Davison in it today?
Not yet. Waiting for my friend to send it to me.
I saw it, I thought it was good but wished it was longer
It was not bad.
For a short sketch, it wasnt bad. Better than the Robin Hood sketch they did.
I really enjoyed it for what it was...
Pretty amusing, woulden't mind seeing an entire episode of it at some point.
I recorded the begathon between 8 and 9 so I could skip througth to it, BBC presenters acting like muppets isn't my idea of entertaining viewing.
I enjoyed it. I enjoyed seeing Peter Davison again. But I felt that 8 minutes length made it something of a wasted oppurtunity. And while I thought that all of the dialogue was great, I was a little bothered by the "You were my Doctor" line. Yeah, that's something a fan would say, but why would the Doctor say it to one of his past selves? If Doc10 just meant that it was that incarnation when he started to enjoy his life or something like that, and that's why that was "his Doctor", then why was the sixth Doctor so happy to have regenerated out of that form back in the day, saying that the fifth version of him was nothing like him. I'm probably putting too much thought into it for what it is. All in all it was fun.
I liked it a lot, but really wished it was longer. Davison also seemed a bit out of character at the start, he was far angrier and meaner than I remember the Fifth Doctor being. I always associate his Doctor with being calm, collected, and cool under pressure, not frantic and shouting.
I did really like the Tenth Doctor's explanation of how being the Fifth really changed him, that was very cool. I also liked the quick, throwaway explanation of why Davison doesn't look the same way he did back int he 80s, that was a cute touch. The "You're my Doctor" line was a bit too self-aware, but it does stand to reason that various incarnations of the Doctor have a favorite past regeneration.
I'm pretty lucky that I managed to turn on BBC1 about the time of it.
Course, us in the UK also have the ability to watch it on line, along with a making off bit as well.
for those (like me) who missed it
I really liked that, doubling as a tribute to my favourite Doctor as well.
Honestly I do hope they do a Proper Multi-Doctor Story in the future, sure they don't turn out the best but it's fun to see the Doctor up-in-arms over himself.
Just finished watching it. Awsome! I really hope they do a real full length episode or maybe even a two parter with Peter Davidson in it.
I always thought it would be cool if they inserted the new doctor into one of the old doctors episodes. Kind of like when they did it on deep space nine in trouble with tribbles.
I'm hoping for one of those as well. Bring back the Valeyard, he'd be a great villain for a story like that. Nothing like an evil shadow of the 12th Regeneration (or whatever he was supposed to be in relation to the 12th Doctor) to get all the other Doctors assembled against a common enemy.
