So after a duff crimbo special and 13 excruciatingly bad episodes of the Captain Jack Bisexual Comedy Hour, Doctor Who is back for a new series.

Usual groans all round when the Davies script credit came up, but a fairly decent opener thats considerably better then the dross that he started the last series with. No opinion yet on the new skirt yet, but i've got my fingers crossed that the appearence of her family isn't a harbringer of them being reccuring characters like they were with the last one. Hopefully we'll get a bit further away from Earth then the moon in futuew episodes, althougth its good to see a historical type episode next week since those are usually above average.

    Anyone else watching?

As soon as a torrent goes up I'll be getting ready to watch.

    P.S. - BiCat and I loved Torchwood.

Waiting on the torrent.. It's been a long wait for some new Doctor Who. I kind of liked Torchwood though.

I liked the Judoon, their suited look reminded me a lot of the Sontarans. They're pretty cool aliens and they've got an interesting backstory, the whole "galactic law enforcement" or "thugs for hire" thing. I hope we will see them again down the line, since we've only got the vintage villains as recurring bad guys right now.

Over all, a good start. Another couple of references to this "Mr Saxon" as well, which pretty much solidifies in my mind that he is this season's Torchwood or Bad Wolf. I wonder if he might be another Time Lord, the one from the William Hartnell "Time Meddler" / Meddling Monk episodes. After all, the Monk wanted to give Harold and his Saxons firearms, and this guy is named Saxon, tenuous but no more so than the Rose / Bad Wolf thing.

Didn't bother with it; Crackdown arrived this morning, so I had infinitely better things to do than watch a show that does little more these days than make me remember how much more fun it used to be.

Yes, John Simm from Life on Mars is in series three. Whether or not he's The Master, well, we have to wait and see.

Very fun episode. So glad to have The Doctor back in my life. I think I'm really going to like Martha.

Oh, and one more person here who enjoyed Torchwood.

The only Dr. Who that's real to me is the one that stars Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper - especially the segments that feature the Daleks. I've never enjoyed any of the others.

And besides the fact that talking about piracy isn't allowed here, you folks shouldn't take possession of these episodes without paying the creators for them. Piracy is theft, in case you weren't aware. Just wait for the dang DVD's to come out.

LOL, you're kidding right? You can't pirate broadcast Television. Also, the 2 Series DVD sets on my shelf would beg to differ with your idea that people who user the internet as an alternative DVR are thieves. We're not, we just don't want to wait 6 - 18 months for Sci-Fi or BBC America to Air them.

Dude needs more goatee if he's going to be The Master, we know what happened the last time we had one without.

Try reading the rules before attempting to quote them, nobody is selling or giving links.
