Awesome episode, loved the revealing of the Daleks at the end, also, I can't wait for next weeks episode, Daleks Vs Cybermen.
Also, in the 'Next Time' trailer, what is that thing the Daleks are protecting?

I'm guessing it is something that'll allow them to convert humanity into Daleks. I'd guess these are the few who survived disintegration, and they need to rebuild their numbers using it.
That'll be why the Cybermen are there to stop them. They want to do the same thing.

Awesome, awesome episode too. It builds up a lot of suspense, and the intro pretty much hammers the point home. Rose is going to die, and this is the how. The sequel ought to deliver on the promise.

my theory, based on various explanations and dialogue

These Daleks didn't survive Bad Wolf. They come from a parrallel dimension, and crossing over punched a hole through to the Cybermen's home. They came through because they're losing to Mickey & Co.

I don't think so. I suspect that while these Daleks didn't have to survive Bad Wolf, it was because they escaped during the Time War.

I suspect that given that as it appears to be the Dalek Supreme in charge, they were shot into 'the void' in an effort to safeguard the Dalek race, possibly when the Emperor realised there was a chance the Daleks might loose. He therefore sent his right plunger off with the secrets of their race.

The effect of this was the 'hole' in the time vortex through which the Tardis fell in Rise of the Cybermen, and the 'collision' of universes.

Either way, it looks like the Cybermen's motto is being adopted by both races.

    We will survive...

Good stuff, roll on next week.

Maybe the Daleks are still ideologically divided, with these guys being the Supreme Daleks hardliners and the Emporer from the last series being an engineered Davrosite.

I've thought a lot of this season has had weak points. But this episode is excellent. I was very happy with it. My only problem is that all the Dalek/Cyberman screentime has to be squeezed into next week because of them not really being in it until the end.
My hopes is that next week ends with a cliff hanger and that it continues into the next Christmas special.
A large Dalek fleet could join up with the four and go up against the entire Cybermen force in a real war for the christmas one.

I enjoyed that schism when it was introduced. Cultural heterogeneity gave some weight to the idea of the Daleks being a legitimate race, but still kept their traditional, virus-like directive.

Can't wait to see them kick some Cybermen ass next week.

I like the little bit of the Cyberman talking to a Dalek in the trailer

(Im not 100% sure on this)
'we could join forces, and with the power, we could upgrade the universe'

This episode is gonna kick some serious ass, and I think that these two alone will make up for any doubts I had about this series.

Also, Dont forget guys, BBC3 is showing all of season 2 next week. Heres the schedule.

That was one awesome episode. The Genesis Ark sounds like something they'll use to restart the Dalek race, and it would seem like those Daleks were from the Time War and escaped in to the Void.

I'm kind of skeptic about Rose's actual death though.. Her mother hinted at something that kind of stuck in my mind, about how 50 years from now Rose would just be some strange woman who wanders the universe, that she wouldn't be Rose anymore. Yes she's leaving, but will she really be killed ? It sort of sounds like she'll end up leaving the Doctor and change her name, "killing" Rose Tyler.

Given its her thats narrating how she died and the fact she's shown on an alien world thats highly possable, also the doctor could take her there. And then just ditch her telling her in his way its time to move on.
