I enjoy watching reviews of movie toys even though im not gonna buy them, the same with MP09 and many other figures. Does anyone else do this?
I just like seeing the engineering behind them i guess and probably to make sure i dont want them.

Yeah, but I run the risk of it making me want them. I also sometimes watch reviews of toys I already own.

I pretty much do the same. Sometimes a good review can actually turn me around on a figure.

I remember back when I first started watching vid reviews, Vangelus' review of TFA Deluxe Optimus actually got me to buy it, when before I really had little to no interest in it.

    Of course.

I mean, if I limited myself to "just" videos featuring ones I wanted to buy or already own, I'd not only have ran out of viewing material long ago (I only have maybe 50), but I'd also be robbing myself of the countless other reasons for pissing around on youtube. For example, I love seeing things that I can't look at on my shelf or even in my stores, and I also love hearing people's thoughts & experiences that relate to them in some capacity. That's sort of why I come here as well, and it's the same for my other hobbies like yugioh, cars & femmebotporn.

I don't really have any pattern in my review viewing habits, though 3rd party accessories seem to interest me the least.

One things for sure, if theres a new Barutazaru review, EVERYTHING stops while I watch Thews reviewing genius, especially if its a shit figure!

Yes, especially when it's third party stuff. I watch them just so I know what everyone's talking about when they talk about the New Poptimus First figure or whatever.

Yes I'll check the feedback forum first.

Or if it's something other than a Transformer I'll find the appropriate forum to ask about said figure.

That or do a google/youtube search. Never hurts to do your homework.

Yeah, reviewers like Vangelus and Thew count as a form of entertainment besides information.

This. More than a few reviews have changed my mind about picking one up.

I also use reviews if I forget/need to know how to transform some of the trickier guys, especially when the instructions aren't terribly helpful (or if I'm just too lazy to dig them out).

It's fun to watch reviews, kind of like window-shopping, only the toys are actually opened and showcased. It's the closest I can get to the toy without actually buying it.

I read reviews (I don't watch video reviews), yeah. Sometimes it changes my opinion and I decide to buy the toy. If it's a toy I'm going to buy anyway, I avoid reviews - I don't want to know too much about the toy, even if the knowledge might prevent me from getting a not too great toy.

Couldn't have said it better myself, exactly what I do.
I thought I was the only one that watched reviews of toys I already have; sometimes I find something new that I didn't know about so it's worth it.

    Depends on who's reviewing.

If Thew is reviewing it, I'll watch it even if I already own it.

Yes to all. I watch reviews of figures I have interest in, have no interest in, and already own.

I don't watch them for every product out there, but I do watch 'em.

If it's Thew and even if it's crap, I might end up with the figure in review.

    LIGHTPIPING!
