If it is the rumored "Before on Cybertron" CGI film, absolutely!
If it is an attempt to resurrect the "Bayformers" timeline, absolutely not!

That's not entirely accurate. There were tons of G1 episodes that focused on a single character. Season 2 especially is made up of a lot of character-focused episodes. I don't see a problem with the movies doing the same thing. Considering Bumblebee is one of the highest critically-praised pieces of Transformers fiction, maybe making character-based stories is actually the way to go.

They say Optimus Prime is stoic and always right. That's why Optimus movie is so hard to make. Then why not start with Orion Pax?

(Besides Bumblebee) werent all TF movies about Optimus? Just like any X-Men movie with Wolverine in it was about Wolverine?

 

There have been plenty of great stories in Transformers history that focus on just one or a few characters over the last 30 years.

That you have a wide cast of characters, and are still able to do that is one of the biggest strengths of the brand.



If they've got a story to tell with Optimus, sure, why not, let's go for it and give it a try. I'd prefer it wasn't an origin story though, we've had so many of those over the years.

 

If its a Optimus Vs Megatron movie that really examines their differences and simularities, ending with a big rocky style smackdown! Then hell yeah!

Yes of course! Getting to know Optimus backstory like Orion Pax and the relationship between Prime and Megs of something I want to see in live action. TBH the producer is just stupid and trying to ruin Transformers. There is so much story about Prime based on the comics and cartoons and he just doesn't want Transformers to be rebooted cause of his stupid thinking.

How hard is it to really conceive of what this film franchise needs? It needs what everyone's been asking for and wanting since the beginning.

A film set entirely on Cybertron / in space, with focus on both the Autobots and Decepticons, the tragic downfall of Cybertron and its civilisation, the origins of the Transformers themselves, Megatron and Optimus' beginnings and personal conflict, Starscream, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee, Shockwave, Soundwave etc. etc...

A film where each Transformer is actually a character to lesser or greater degrees, with zero-to-minimal human interaction.

Flesh out the conflict, show what really happened, why the two factions have been at war for so long with no reconciliation other than "the Decepticons are evil because", the origins of the whole war between the Decepticons and the Autobots, not this piecemeal half-assery with humans at the forefront. The opening scene in Bumblebee set on Cybertron is something like what I imagine, just with more character and, well, being an entire film.

In a nutshell, we need a film that is ACTUALLY ABOUT THE TRANSFORMERS.
