M.A.S.K. was my second favourite cartoon as a kid, and i think a live action movie is something that should happen. I've heard rumors of a movie in development, but nothings been confirmed.

So, anyone else want a live action M.A.S.K. movie. Also post which character you'd want in it and who you'd like to play them.

    No. No. GOD no.

Well, maybe. If it was totally tongue-in-cheek and done mostly like an action-comedy, like... The Green Hornet I guess?

But I'd be down for a new animated series of some kind.

Making it an action-comedy would be awful. I'm thinking something along the lines of Transformers, but without that humor Transformers has.

Yes. Then I can have MASK toys and possibly a new cartoon.

I'd love to see a new cartoon show. They did he-man, they've brought back Thundercats, there's the new GI-Joe series. They definitely should bring back M.A.S.K.

I'd just like a new cartoon first to prove the concept still works. And that the people in charge understand it first. Then we can talk movies.

No. Start with a cartoon first and see where it goes.

    Ebay:
The Paris chase scene in the first GIJoe movie showed how a MASK movie could work. Baroness pretty much had a MASK vehicle.

Isn't M.A.S.K basically Stealth Force. Already saw it in DOTM. No Thanks.

In that case, no no no. At best, you'd end up with Rise of Cobra, and we all saw how that turned out.

Actually I think an action comedy (sorta along the lines of the ATeam movie) would work best for M.A.S.K. Ryan Reynolds , or Sean William Scott (or both) starring, with a solid script, badass exotic cars. I can't believe so many people would think the concept wouldn't work, it would be the Fast and Furious on adrenaline.

I'd get Bay to direct it, because I think he could do a much better job with something like this than Transformers, and being that the cars would be so important he could do a great job shooting them.

    No. Nuh-uh. Hell no.

This. If it's going to be a remake, make it around the likes of The Avengers or that '02 remake of He-Man (animation wise, I think I've seen enough cartoons getting the fake anime treatment).

why does everything always have to be live action?

why not an animated MOVIE? or tv show?

we all know that they can do 100 times better in a cartoon with these things, then they can with a 200 million dollar movie budget. especially if they do it as a series.

because then we get things like characterization! and time to explore stories and plots. the villains as well.

with a movie, no matter how big the budget is, you're still limited to about a 2 hour movie, sometimes 2.5 hours. there is only SO many things you can put into two hours. only so much story!

so why do we always have to have movies of these things?

just a tv show will be fine.

Bah, MASK isn't anywhere near as deep a storyline as TF, GI Joe or Voltron.

Licenced cars, Baysplosions, Fast & Furious meets James Bond. Hell I'de give them bonus points if they could get Scott Green to play Scott Tracker, even if he's a middle aged slacker who inherits his father's crime fighting. (and YES it's been done in Green Hornet so it's even funnier)

As long as the humor is smart/witty and not poop jokes, why not.

Bring it back as a cartoon first. I can see it working live action too though. I see the vehicle changes looking like the Transmech weaponizing from TF3: DOTM. No longer will doors just open and boom the car flies. I see it more of a morphing effect to change to jet.

It only ever existed so that Kenner could combine G.I.Joe and Transformers into one franchise and claw back the market share they lost to Hasbro.

    Hasbro bought Kenner.

I like the toy line, but the moment is past. Not every toy franchise from the 80s has to be rehashed.

    Let it lie.
