in a recent interveiw, hasbro claimed they would not do any more beast era characters because the kids are more familiar with vehicle transformers. now how could obsidian slip in?

1: hasbro is not good at kepping secrets, they claimed they do not want to do combiners or pretendors but look, pics of classics superion and plans for classics bludgeon.

2: obsidian is a vehicle, according to hasbro, kids are more familiar with vehicle transformers, so why not slip in obsidian. i mean, we don't have any bm characters that aren't robot heroes.

3 bm robot heroes, they are continuing to make bm RHs, so maby they might want to make a show accurate, deluxe class obsidian (i don't care if its show accurate).

    so what do you think?

    If it isn't show-accurate, I wouldn't want it.
Besides, we have TF:A Megatron and TFTM Incinerator that fill the place of dual-bladed jet copters.
It's just too bad the BM figure was scout-classed when Strika and the rest of the generals were Voyager.

    Link, please?

What you're saying contradicts an interview from the recent ish of Toyfare in which one of the Hasbro design team says the Universe line is open to all kinds of possibilities if it continues to sell well. He also said he'd love to do a voyager-class Rhinox.

he was my favorite mold of the BM line, having a larger more complex tf and some extra details (i.e. maybe the tendril fingers pop out) would fully rock!

Especially if we get animated strika.

Obsidian would make a great deluxe. Retractable fingers/missle pods, spring loaded shoulder slug missles. Red Lightpipeing.

    A Darker Green would work.

i'd be cool if there was a switch thing on him that made is bottom jaw wiggle, like when he talks in the show. i have a list of bm character's sizes should'a been

    optimus primal- mega
    cheetor - deluxe
    blackarachnia- deluxe
    rattrap- basic
    silverbolt- a tall deluxe
    nightscream- basic

megatron- a real mega, not a deluxe in mega packaging.
megahead megatron- supreme, has a battlecruiser mode and a base mode compatable with scout and small deluxes.
    jetstorm- mega
    tankor- ultra
    thrust- deluxe
    strika- mega
    obsidian- mega

    savage/noble- deluxe

and to balance out the number of figures and sizes, hasbro would have made non show characters to fill the gap.

Whoa wait a second.. Obsidian is a Beast something or the other? Darn. I was thinking it was just a REALLY black repaint of something else. Hadn't heard of it before this thread.

Thanks for providing the voting option for those of us that dislike the "Beast ____" stuff :)  If such a fig came out, I'd skip it. Wouldn't be torn up about Hasbro spending time on it though. Gotta throw a bone to the Beast fans once in awhile.

All eras should get a little love in the 25th anniversary line, not just the favs. Obsidian is just the figure to do it.

yes, they are planning to make a classics bludgeon, but it's on hold because there are a lot of tank bots already out. see tfwiki bludgeon.
