Basically, what the title is saying. Hasbro said they wanted to make the Transformers express more of a pose so they switched to open fists. Do you think they will do the above for Voyagers and Deluxes?

Aside from Masterpieces, I don't see it happening. Deluxes and Voyagers with individually articulated fingers would be way to complex and expensive to produce.

i wouldn't want them to. many voyagers/deluxes have small hands, full articulation will almost guarantee breakage. not even many 1/100 gundams have fully articulated fingers, and those hands are larger than many smaller figures.

In my opinion the open hands are enough of a QC stress/break concern as it is without makiing things that are even more likely to break. I think if they did do individual fingers then they'd end up that rubbery plastic so they won't snap due to safety reasons. Then I'd really feel TF hands had been 'ruined forever'. That said, there are already some open hand TFs with pointy hard plastic posed fingers I'm not confident won't break in the future if dropped or something. Mostly thinking of DotM Deluxe Roadbuster and Voyager Megatron here. Added articulation would just make things even more dodgy.
Gimme back safe secure closed fists. Were they really so bad, people?

Aside from special cases like RTS Lugnut, I don't see it happening. I'm already not the biggest fan of the open hands, as they create too many QC problems. Individual fingers would be a nightmare!

Presumably it would also add costs to the figure, what with extra parts and additional assembly time. It might not make the figure cost any more but I'd imagine it would cut into the paint app budget.

Unless Wal-Mart recognise the fact that production costs are going up, it would be at the expense of something else instead.

I was really pleasantly suprised to see the hands that came with BB Bee, but I think that that is the limit we will ever see on DLXs and 98% of Voyagers. All for the reasons stated above, price, safety, size, etc.

MP figures are obviously not mass market and play by their own rules.

What if the fists were removable and could be stored away elsewhere in alt. mode?

I much rather see fully articulated figure before seeing articulated hands. So I am talking articulation in the ankel, knee, hip, hip swivel, shoulder, elbow, wrist, head and whatever else I missed. Then I will have to deal with all the pics of an articulated middle finger. Just look at whatever pick you want of Unicron and you'll see what I mean.

As much as I like to have my TFs give "the bird", fully articulated fingers will be too breakable on deluxe class figures.

I don't want it. Too much articulation ruins the toy.

This. I dunno about 20 years, but it's a technology issue. I don't really see it happening, but I couldn't imagine how cool the classics figures would be 20 years ago either.
