We already have the Comic and Novel Prequels. so a prequel movie is not needed.
also with all main cons dead its better to not continue from DOTM
Prequel on Cybertron
continue and bring back megs, screamer and soundwave. i think it was dumb to kill them off like that. almost as dumb as killing darth maul in the first episode. just have some "all powerful" bring them back. please.
I still don't understand why anybody thinks a prequel would be a feasible/good idea.
Adapt defiance and foundation into one 3 hour movie!!!
As I mentioned in other thread, prequels could work showing the creation of Sector 7 and the rise of both 'Cons and 'Bots.
For the first movie:
- Make a story about the Archibald Witwicky's voyage on the Artic Circle, with good seekers [wanting to keep Megatron frozen] and bad Seekers [wanting to free him] as the Main TFs.
- Air Raid.
For the second movie:
- Now about Sector 7's rise, with the First Seven trying to dig up Megatron as the era of Steam arises, basically a Hearts of Steel movie showing the end of the "wood" age and the beginning of the age of technology [Industrial Revolution. FUCK YEAH].
Focus the plot on Sector 7 discovering the AllSpark on Planet Earth and on them Megatron's body while others Seekers try to free him.
For the third movie:
- Finish off on WWII, with the last conflict between the Seekers [some of them on the Axis' side, others with the Allies' side], Soundwave would act as one of the villains here.
At the end, Jetfire and Soundwave would send a message to the Autobots and Decepticons [respectively] to bring forth the army, leading to TF2007.
I used to say I want a continuation on the story we alrady have, but the more I think about it, the more I want a reboot. It would cool to get a different approach to the series.
Personally the only way I'd prefer a prequel is if it's set in a completely different decade in the past - which might make a fun movie, but I don't know how much of a seller it'd be when the Autobots and Decepticons involved all turn into out-of-date vehicles and devices, let alone with Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream (translation: the brand figureheads) completely out of the action since three of them wouldn't be on Earth yet and one would still be a popsicle.
After reading "Sector 7", though - and having seen "Captain America" - I do think a TF movie set in the late 1930s prior to WWII (basically around the same time as Welles' "War Of The Worlds" broadcast - yeah, I know "Buckaroo Banzai" nicked it first, but what the hell...) could be fun to play around with.
Countine because if I want a prequel, I can go read my transformers prequel comics.
I don't think a prequel movie will be a good way to go.
I don't like prequels. I'd rather have something going off DOTM as a sequel.
Wow! Maybe I should change my position.
Lets Hollywoodize and "adapt" the comics into a movie, and then all the fanboys can nerd-rage at all the changes to the story, all in the name of "you can't cater to the fanboys alone; you have to make a movie for the mass audiences".
I prefer a reboot.
But if they're continuing the current storyline, they'll probably do what they always do:
start out with some prequel bit set in the past or on cybertron or elsewhere, and have it lead into events in the present day.
a continuation or a prequel about the original primes!
I want a reboot , with a better director mebbe ? I mean with all the money they made from the Bay series , they could at least afford a little more ? I can hope . I don't want a sequal nor prequal . The Bay series is done and fine as it is .
that would be better, than just doing a new prequel story
Adaptationg all Prequels into a movie and this would prove everyone that the comics are canon LOL
People still think they are not?
