Seeing as how closely tied G.I. Joe and transformers were back in the day, do you think we'll see any G.I. Joe references in the movie? Maybe just a name or other reference here and there?

I'm kinda thinking no, but it would be a cool nod to the fans.

Again, I am sorry to disagree with you, but I am only merely stating my opinion. I liked GI Joe's, I had a ton of them as a kid, I also had a few TFs. However, I didn't like the times when the GI Joes and TFs mixed. I like it when a story is kept simple. This story is already complex enough with giant transforming robots. To add to that Gi Joe's would complicate it even more.

However, if you're saying only give a barely noticeable nod to the GI Joe franchise, then I would have no problem. Maybe a flier hanging in the background related to the Joes or some reporter talking about a terrorist organization named Cobra very softly in the background would be alright. Having that kinda stuff could be construed as cheese though or as a marketing gimmick. We don't want this to become a rehash of all the cartoons of the 80s.

Aside from the desturction and rebuild of Bumblebee I would be supprised if there was.

That being said, if there were any nods it would probably be Joe toys or something similar to that.

That's what I mean. I don't want it to be a crossover film at all, I was just wondering if people thought there might be a nod here and there that probably only fans would understand.

    It's possible I suppose :D

You never know we might have Sam say the following to his friend Joe "Yo Joe let's go" :D

You never know I suppose.Even if it did, other then the GIJOE I own.I'd most likely be too dense to notice.I've never even seen Stan Lee's cameos

I thought it was just assumed that they were going to be in it. I mean, the GI Joe movie is coming pretty closely after, it would be stupid not to have Duke or somebody show up in one of the military scenes. Just a simple "Duke, look out!" in the middle of the battle, that'll get the old fans buzzing and start up the Joe hype good and proper.

Seriously, I thought we were all expecting that.

I wouldn't be surprised if as an Easter Egg one of the jet pilots had a call sign of "Wild Bill" or something. I definately think we'll see some Easter Eggs in there. I wouldn't be surprised if some other big names in the history of TF were to get a walk on cameo.

Who shot who in the what now? There's a GIJoe movie for sure? Last I heard it was still on the drawing board and there was much ado about whether it would borrow mostly from the 3 3/4" universe.

I would be happy to find one. Soooo sad that Chris Latta (Starscream/Cobra Commander) died. :(

Still, it's interesting since Marvel chose to set Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk in the same universe, I'd love something similar in Revenge of the Fallen and The Rise of Cobra. Thing is, the G.I. Joe movie is set ten years into the future. References to TF may be scarce.

Would be ultra mega cool if they did since Hasbro is such a stick in the mud about it lately.

I mean yea I wouldn't expect Snake Eyes or Destro to show up anywhere in the movie but some easter eggs in the next Transformers movie would be great. A few Transformers nods over in the Joe movie for fans of both. Like say Megatrons old pistol mode sitting around somewhere in the Joe movie, or a Cobra wants you poster in the background of a scene in Transformers.

Really sort of odd we haven't gotten more nods, winks, and easter eggs because maybe it's just me but the military unit in part one really had a GI Joe feel on it. Heck I mean the main solider even looks sort of like Duke or something and Blackout's hologram had that Wild Bill 'stach.
