Hey dudes this is probably a stupid question but do you think some store might have an exclusive 2 disc DOTM DVD edition???? because I know lately the trend is having the extras with Blu Ray, thus being another one of their selling points and pushing for more people to buy them and slowly phasing DVDs.... So what yah think dudes
I think the Blu-ray selling point is Hi-def 1080p, not extras. Extras are just that, extras. The phasing out of DVDs is probably also to do with the current HDTVs being sold. People wanting to get the most from their HDTV investment ar going to also want a Blu-ray player and HD blu-ray movies. DVDs just dont cut it anymore.
Yeah very true, of course the selling point is hi-def, but by them putting extras with them is beefing the Blu Ray up even more, and putting more attention to that version, I personally like having extras because it goes into the development of the film
Maybe not this month, but by the end of the year there WILL be a 2 disc set. And hopefully a 3D set as well.
I hate the death of the special features on DVD's. It used to be that was a major selling point. It allowed people to get further into the movie experience than with just VHS. Now, it feels like the studios just seem it as more money to spend that they'll never recoup. Then again, doesn't it seem a waste to make consumer-editions, and rental-editions that are movie-only? I remember thinking it was utter-nonsense that in the span of under 7 years, Universal released about 5 different versions of The Mummy Returns.
Yeah man I hear that, take the release, or should I say both releases, of DOTM, they not only need one(barely 2 months after its been in theaters???!!!!) but also another around Christmas, this combined with DOTM being re-released in IMAX just shows that Paramount is trying to get every dime out of the people, you dont see this happening with other films.......
Put be down for a Transforming case 2 disc set as well. I keep watching target.com to see if they'll put a listing up, for so far...nothing.
