Do you think the TF3 line should have a lower RRP?

This is purely from looking at the size of some of these figures. In my opinion it wouldn't be fair to sell something e.g Megatron for £23 when it's smaller and with virtually no paint application.

    What do you think?

I agree. This is actually what I first thought when I heard the toys will be smaller. Then again, if the same amount of plastic is used...(w/ the MechTech and all...)

Yeah, that was what I was thinking. If the mech tech is a significant amount of plastic then it's fair. Especially if they can combine with Optimus.

i think they should be cheaper. for the mere fact that were getting less toy, less paint.

When you count the amount/volume of plastic and moving parts used in the total figure+weapon you're getting, it probably works out at around the same as before.

Whether the actual figures themselves are better or worse than the previous movie lines is a subjective matter and therefore should not impact on the retail price.

But yeah, it doesn't matter if you agree or not with the smaller figures with massive weapons theme, that's what we're getting and if you stand back and look at them without bias, they should stay at around the same price as last time around.

The figures are smaller, but they come with a large accessory.

Given some of the shelf warmers from Revenge of the Fallen it seems better to come out at a full price so that retailers could lower the price later once all the popular figures had been picked out of the line.

Plus I imagine most retailers will want a price point with enough of profit margin that they can drop the price for their Christmas sales.

Aw gees.. We aren't getting "less toy" its the same amount of plastic, just split into a new gimmic. Granted, I don't LIKE the new gimmic, but, it is what it is..

I think given the amount of re-used moulds, the price should be lower.
The huge gun thing is nonsense to me, i'll be passing up most of this line.

Is the reused mold quotient, based on what we've seen so far, any higher than the last movie?

People want to buy brand new toys at clearance price. All the time. That's the reality.

But that's only an assumption that we're getting equal toy. What about comparing DOTM Megatron to Ratchet or Ironhide or Mixmaster? Megatron's Mechtech is a part of his vehicle.

DotM Ironhide is not all that much smaller than his previous versions, and he's got no fewer moving parts. There's a similar level of complexity, and there's probably as many paint applications, they are just more subtle. The mechtech weapon VS the previous accessories has more moving parts in it.

It doesn't feel like it should retail for any less, if anything the very slight difference between the two is an accurate reflection of the rising cost of making these things, and a testament to Hasbro keep the cost steady - a cost that is only slightly higher than it used to be for the same size class for nearly 10 years.
