Do you think a Power Rangers movie could work? I think if they make it less cheesy and if they mix a bit of RPM and MM's storyline it could be a great movie. It could work because G1 was pretty cheesy at times too and it got a live action movie series that revived the brand. It should also be PG-13 so it can appeal to more people.

I don't know, it seems as if there isn't much in the way of making men in spandex have a general "cool" factor, unlike murderous robot machines. I'd like to see it, yeah, but I don't think it'd work all that well unless it had some really drastic changes in concept.

If done right, with good camera-work, director, plot, writing and etc then yes it can work.

If Spider-man and various spandex-wearing superheroes can be adapted to cinema, there's no way it can't work. All they have to do is fix the usual inconsistencies seen in the TV show and give basic explanations as to why certain things (combining mecha, 5 teenagers) are done a certain way, and put it in a more realistic, mature setting.

Power Rangers was one of the the most memorable tv shows of our generation, so yeah. It's one of those movies that would be awesome, regardless of how much it sucked ass, so I'd give it a go. :)

... especially if there was some sort of reunion from older actors merging with the newer shit.

Yes, but those coincided with the TV show. I'm talking about a mature reboot.

Considering that they've had a movie before, and that it's already live action, I'd say yes.

I think i'd generally agree with you here

Power Rangers is still on the air too and its a series heavily aimed for children. So im not sure you'd get much better/different than the movies we already have

If you're wanting something Power Ranger-esque then just wait for the Voltron movie

Voltron has the great thing about not being in the public eye for the past 20 years so a more "adult" update is a lot easier/more acceptable to pull off

[and plus, they dont have to go spandex. Heck, i really liked how the first power rangers movie made the suits all armored lookin and stuff]

Didn't they kind of have armour in the Ivan Ooze movie?

For the love of God we really don't need dark and gritty Power Rangers.

Well maybe not a Dark Knight type of deal, but I'm sure something inspiring could be done without breaking the reality wall too badly.

They're 5 teenagers with attitude who fight the monster of the week by changing into brightly coloured spandex and then fight the monster with cheesy martial arts or huge vehicles/animals/robots that then combine into one huge robot. I like the Power Rangers for how cheesy and over-the-top it is and given how many years it has been on air I can't see the fundamental style and feel of the show being changed any time soon.
